Eligible college and university students in the Philippines can now get 12 months of Google AI Plus for free, giving them access to a collection of AI-powered study, productivity, and cloud storage tools.
Google announced the promotion on September 4, with eligible students able to claim the offer until December 31, 2026.
The subscription is designed to help students manage coursework, prepare for exams, organize projects, and use AI for everyday academic tasks without paying for the plan during the promotional period.
Study Notebooks turns class materials into study plans
One of the key features included in the offer is Study Notebooks, which allows students to upload materials such as syllabi, presentation slides, and reading packets.
Gemini can then use those materials to create a structured study plan. The tool can also generate learning guides and practice tests while tracking a student’s progress.
Study Notebooks can additionally connect academic deadlines to Google Calendar, allowing exam dates and project deadlines to be added alongside a student’s existing schedule.
For students juggling multiple subjects, the feature essentially turns a collection of course materials into a more structured study workflow.
Gemini and AI tools are included
The free AI Plus subscription also provides access to several of Google’s AI features, including Gemini Omni for AI-powered assistance, Interactive 3D Visualizations for exploring complex concepts, Daily Brief for personalized updates and priorities, and Gemini Live for conversational study sessions.
The subscription also includes 400GB of cloud storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos.
Together, these features give students tools for both academic work and general productivity, while the additional cloud storage provides more room for research papers, presentations, photos, and other school-related files.
How Filipino students can claim Google AI Plus for free
Students can claim the offer through Google’s student hub using a web browser or through the Gemini app.
To activate the offer, students must sign in with their Google account, verify active enrollment at an eligible Philippine college or university, and add a valid payment method.
Google says students will not be charged during the 12-month promotional period and can cancel at any time. The promotion is available to eligible students until December 31, 2026.
Free AI access comes with a catch to watch
While the year-long subscription comes at no cost during the promotional period, students still need to provide a payment method when activating the offer.
That makes it worth checking the subscription terms and cancellation settings before the free period ends, particularly for students who do not intend to continue with a paid AI Plus subscription afterward.
For Filipino college students, however, the promotion offers a full year to explore Google’s AI-powered study and productivity tools without paying the usual subscription cost.
