Gemini Spark arrives in the Philippines, bringing Google’s always-on AI agent to more users

Google has introduced Gemini Spark in the Philippines, giving eligible users access to an AI-powered digital agent designed to automate repetitive online tasks and streamline everyday workflows.

Initially available to Google AI Ultra subscribers, Gemini Spark operates continuously in the cloud—even when a user’s laptop is closed or mobile device is locked. Google also plans to expand access to Google AI Pro subscribers in the coming weeks.

Powered by Gemini 3.6 Flash, the AI agent integrates natively with Google Workspace applications such as Gmail, Docs, and Sheets without requiring additional setup.

An AI agent that works in the background

Unlike traditional AI assistants that wait for prompts, Gemini Spark is designed to proactively carry out routine digital tasks after receiving user instructions.

According to Google, Spark allows users to delegate repetitive activities while retaining full control over what the AI can access and execute.

Users decide which Google services Spark can connect to, and the system requests approval before performing sensitive actions such as sending emails or making purchases.

Automating everyday tasks

Gemini Spark supports a variety of personal and professional workflows.

For travelers, the AI agent can automatically extract flight and hotel reservation details from confirmation emails, organize them into Google Sheets, and identify local events that fit available calendar slots.

Users can also have Spark curate weekend activities by compiling local events into a Google Doc, with selected recommendations added directly to their calendar.

For sports enthusiasts, Spark can monitor court booking platforms on a schedule while checking weather forecasts, notifying users only when favorable playing conditions are expected.

Helping businesses stay organized

Google also positions Gemini Spark as a productivity tool for entrepreneurs and small businesses.

The AI agent can scan inboxes for customer inquiries, draft personalized responses using relevant service and pricing information, and leave them ready for review before sending.

Spark can also simplify event planning by gathering RSVP responses from Gmail, organizing dietary restrictions into structured tables, and preparing summary emails for vendors.

For finance management, the system reviews digital invoices each month, alerts users about subscription price increases or expiring free trials, and even prepares cancellation emails for approval.

Learning how users communicate

Another feature allows Gemini Spark to analyze a user’s previous outgoing emails to understand their preferred writing style.

The AI then applies those patterns when drafting future messages, helping maintain a consistent tone across communications.

With the Philippine rollout, Google continues expanding Gemini beyond conversational AI, positioning Spark as an always-on digital assistant capable of independently managing routine tasks while keeping users in control of important decisions.
