MLBB Reveals MSC 2026 Qualification Slots, Regional Paths for EWC
MOONTON Games has officially outlined the qualification structure for the MLBB Midseason Cup (MSC) 2026, set to take place during the Esports World Cup in Riyadh.
A total of 16 teams will compete in the two-week tournament. Fifteen teams will qualify directly through 12 regional leagues, while one final slot will be decided through a wildcard stage featuring 10 teams from eight regions. The new structure defines a clearer path to the world stage while reinforcing MLBB’s expanding global footprint.
MPL Regions Anchor the Field
Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia will each receive two direct slots. The champions and runners-up of their respective MPL seasons will go straight to MSC 2026.

Meanwhile, single direct slots will go to the champions of MPL Cambodia, MPL Singapore, MPL MENA, MSL Myanmar, the MLBB Continental Championship in EECA, and the MLBB Turkey Championship. The winners of the MLBB Championship Tour (MCT) East Asia and MCT Americas will also qualify outright, alongside India’s representative through the newly introduced ML Masters Series.
Wildcard Stage Intensifies the Race
Ten teams will battle for the lone remaining MSC 2026 slot in the wildcard stage. The runners-up of MPL MENA, the MLBB Continental Championship, the MLBB Turkey Championship, and MCT Americas will enter the wildcard, joined by the second to fourth place teams from MCT East Asia.
They will face the champions of MSL Thailand, the Mekong M Challenge Cup, and the MLBB European Championship. The expanded wildcard pool raises the competitive floor, forcing upcoming contenders to survive an additional elimination phase before reaching the main stage in Riyadh.

India, South Korea, Western Europe Join the Circuit
MSC 2026 also introduces three new regions to the global MLBB circuit. India will make its world stage debut through its own qualification system, reflecting the rapid rise of the game in the region. Organizations such as S8UL and Revenant XSpark have helped accelerate grassroots growth.
South Korea joins the East Asia circuit, tapping into one of the world’s most established MOBA ecosystems. Western Europe, meanwhile, gains official representation through the MLBB European Championship, formalizing a scene that has largely operated through smaller community tournaments.
North America will also make their return to the scene as part of the broader MCT Americas scene, alongside the more established MPL LATAM.
Format and Prize Pool
MSC 2026 will open with a group stage featuring 16 teams divided into two groups of eight. Matches will follow a best-of-three, double-elimination format, with the top four teams from each group advancing to the knockout stage.
The playoffs will shift to single elimination, with best-of-five matches determining the finalists. The grand finals will be played in a best-of-seven series. A total prize pool of USD 3 million is at stake, with the champions claiming USD 1 million.
