Portuguese Esports Federation, MOONTON Renew MLBB Partnership
The Portuguese Esports Federation and MOONTON Games have renewed their strategic partnership to continue developing Mobile Legends: Bang Bang as a core competitive title within Portugal’s national esports structure.
The agreement builds on two years of collaboration and aligns with Portugal’s Esports Vision 2030, a long-term national plan aimed at formalizing esports governance, strengthening competitive pathways, and expanding international representation.
MLBB as a pillar for Portugal esports
Under the renewed partnership, MLBB remains a central pillar of FPDE’s competitive ecosystem, serving as both a domestic flagship title and a gateway to international competition. FPDE’s Vision 2030 framework prioritizes four key areas: official recognition of esports, health and education initiatives, integrity-driven competitive systems, and inclusion across the national esports scene.
MLBB’s inclusion reflects its global scale. The title has surpassed 1.5 billion installations and reached 110 million monthly active users ahead of its 10th anniversary in 2026. According to Esports Charts, the M7 World Championship became the most-watched mobile esports tournament in history, reinforcing the game’s relevance within the global competitive landscape.
At the national level, MLBB will once again feature as a flagship title at the Portuguese Esports Cup 2026, scheduled from June 4 to 7 in Fundão. Organized by FPDE, the event will host 20 competitions across 16 titles, with a combined prize pool exceeding €15,000.
FPDE reported that the 2025 edition of the Portuguese Esports Cup generated 1.5 million impressions, 26,000 interactions, and approximately €170,000 in media value, alongside 63 hours of broadcast content. MLBB ranked among the event’s most engaged titles.
“A proven community favorite.”
Beyond domestic competition, FPDE has expanded Portugal’s international footprint by fielding MLBB national teams in multiple international tournaments across 2024 and 2025. The renewed agreement formalizes that pathway, reinforcing Portugal’s role within MOONTON Games’ broader European esports ecosystem.
“Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has shown strong community traction in Portugal,” said FPDE president Pedro Honório da Silva, noting that the partnership supports FPDE’s goal of providing structured international opportunities for Portuguese players.
“Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has proven to be a community favorite, and we’re committed to providing world-class competitive opportunities for our players on the international stage,” da Silva added.
MOONTON Games’ Vladislav Samokha, Esports Ecosystem Lead for WEU and EECA, added that the partnership reflects a shared focus on long-term ecosystem development rather than short-term competition outcomes.
The renewed FPDE–MOONTON agreement keeps MLBB embedded within Portugal’s national esports framework as the country continues to formalize its competitive pathways under Vision 2030.
