TP-Link unveils Wi-Fi 8 lineup led by Archer 8 Ultra, Deco 8 Ultra

TP-Link Systems brings its next-generation networking push to IFA 2026 with what it describes as the world’s first complete Wi-Fi 8 lineup, led by the Archer 8 Ultra router and Deco 8 Ultra mesh Wi-Fi system.

The company says the new devices are built around the upcoming IEEE 802.11bn standard, shifting the focus of next-generation wireless networking beyond raw speed toward coverage, congestion management, and connection stability.

TP-Link focuses Wi-Fi 8 on reliability

At the center of the new lineup is TP-Link’s Wi-Fi 8 StabilityEngine, which combines several emerging technologies to address common home networking problems.

These include weak connections at the edges of a home, interference from other devices, and network congestion when numerous devices compete for bandwidth.

The system uses Enhanced Long Range (ELR) and Distributed Resource Units (DRU) to extend coverage and improve uplink performance for distant or low-power devices.

Meanwhile, Non-Primary Channel Access (NPCA) is designed to keep networks responsive as more devices connect, while Unequal Modulation (UEQM) and new Modulation and Coding Schemes (MCS) aim to maintain throughput in environments with heavier interference.

Archer 8 Ultra reaches 19Gbps

The Archer 8 Ultra BN19000 (Archer BN800) is a tri-band Wi-Fi 8 router with up to 19Gbps of aggregate wireless throughput and 10Gbps wired connectivity.

TP-Link equips the router with 18 internal high-performance antennas designed to maintain coverage across the home.

The company is positioning the device as its flagship conventional router for users who need high-capacity wireless connectivity without moving to a mesh setup.

Deco 8 Ultra targets whole-home coverage

For larger homes and more connected households, the Deco 8 Ultra BN22000 (Deco BN85) brings Wi-Fi 8 to TP-Link’s mesh platform.

The tri-band system supports up to 22Gbps of aggregate wireless speeds and 10Gbps wired connectivity. A three-pack can cover up to 9,800 square feet and support more than 200 connected devices.

The combination of high device capacity and expanded coverage reflects TP-Link’s broader approach to Wi-Fi 8: improving how networks perform under real-world conditions rather than simply increasing headline speeds.

TP-Link is also changing the physical design of its networking hardware as it moves into Wi-Fi 8.

The Archer 8 Ultra uses a minimalist, architectural design with a dual-tone grille and micropatterns, along with a soft emissive glow for status indicators.

The Deco 8 Ultra takes a more compact approach, combining organic edges with a matte body and glossy top.

According to Gary Chang, who leads industrial design at TP-Link’s Irvine headquarters, the company designed the devices to be displayed rather than hidden away.

More Wi-Fi 8 devices are coming

The Archer 8 Ultra will begin accepting pre-orders in select regions on September 30, 2026, alongside TP-Link’s global online Wi-Fi 8 launch event.

TP-Link plans to expand its Wi-Fi 8 lineup beyond traditional routers and mesh systems. The Deco 8 Wi-Fi 8 Mesh System is scheduled for Q1 2027, followed by the Roam 8 Wi-Fi 8 Travel Router and Wi-Fi 8 Range Extenders and Adapters in Q2 2027.

TP-Link says availability, specifications, and launch schedules may vary by region. For the Philippines, the company announced the lineup from Manila but has not provided specific local pricing or retail availability in the release.

With the Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra, TP-Link is positioning Wi-Fi 8 as more than another jump in theoretical speeds. Its first products focus on keeping connections usable as homes become increasingly crowded with phones, PCs, smart appliances, gaming devices, and other connected hardware.
