Samsung Unveils Galaxy S26 Series: Its Most Intuitive Galaxy AI Phone Yet

Samsung Electronics has officially introduced the new Samsung Galaxy S26 series, positioning it as the company’s most intuitive and proactive Galaxy AI phone yet.

The third-generation AI-powered flagship lineup — composed of the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra — focuses on simplifying everyday smartphone tasks. From managing schedules and searching for information to capturing, editing, and sharing content, Samsung says the new series reduces the steps required to get things done, with AI working seamlessly in the background.

According to TM Roh, CEO and Head of Samsung’s Device eXperience Division, the goal is to make AI feel effortless and dependable — not something users need to actively manage.

Powerful Performance Built Around AI

At the core of the Galaxy S26 series is Samsung’s most advanced hardware to date, engineered for AI-driven workloads, efficiency, and thermal stability.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is powered by the customized Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, delivering significant performance gains:

  • Up to 19% CPU improvement for faster responsiveness and multitasking
  • 39% NPU boost to power always-on AI features
  • 24% GPU upgrade for smoother gaming and richer visuals

To sustain performance, Samsung redesigned the vapor chamber cooling system and enhanced thermal interface materials, improving heat dissipation during gaming, video capture, and intensive multitasking.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra also introduces Super Fast Charging 3.0, reaching up to 75% battery in just 30 minutes, minimizing downtime for power users.

The World’s First Built-In Privacy Display

One of the biggest innovations in the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the mobile industry’s first integrated Privacy Display.

Unlike stick-on privacy filters, the built-in technology works at the pixel level to limit visibility from side viewing angles while maintaining full clarity for the user. It can automatically activate when entering PINs or opening selected apps, and users can customize privacy levels depending on the scenario.

This hardware-level privacy feature reinforces Samsung’s security-first approach in the AI era.

Industry-Leading Camera System, Now Smarter

Samsung continues its camera leadership with upgraded hardware and AI-powered tools across the Galaxy S26 lineup.

On the Galaxy S26 Ultra:

  • Wider apertures improve low-light photography
  • Enhanced Nightography Video boosts clarity in dim environments
  • Upgraded Super Steady adds horizontal lock for smoother framing
  • Support for APV (Advanced Professional Video codec) enables efficient, visually lossless video workflows

AI enhancements also extend to the selfie camera for more natural skin tones and better detail in mixed lighting.

Editing is just as seamless thanks to an upgraded Photo Assist suite. Users can describe changes in natural language — such as converting a daytime scene to night — and make step-by-step adjustments. Galaxy AI can also modify clothing in photos, restore missing image parts, and refine visuals with minimal manual effort.

Creative Studio further integrates sketch-to-visual generation, sticker creation, wallpapers, and design tools into one streamlined environment.

Smarter, More Proactive Galaxy AI

The Galaxy S26 series introduces a more adaptive AI experience designed to anticipate needs.

Now Nudge surfaces contextual suggestions — like recommending trip photos when a friend asks for them — without requiring manual searches. Meanwhile, Now Brief proactively highlights reminders such as reservations or travel updates.

Samsung also upgraded Circle to Search with Google, enabling multi-object recognition within a single image — allowing users to identify multiple fashion items or objects simultaneously.

An enhanced Bixby now functions as a more conversational device agent, letting users adjust settings or navigate their phone using natural language.

The Galaxy S26 lineup also integrates external AI agents such as Gemini and Perplexity. These agents can complete multi-step tasks — like booking a taxi — with a single voice command, working across apps in the background.

Security in the Age of AI

With AI personalization comes greater responsibility for data protection. The Galaxy S26 series introduces enhanced security layers, including:

  • AI-powered Call Screening
  • Real-time Privacy Alerts for sensitive data access
  • Private Album within Gallery
  • Expanded post-quantum cryptography (PQC) protections
  • PQC-enabled encryption via Knox Matrix

All features are supported by Samsung Knox, Samsung’s multi-layer security framework that protects data from chip to cloud.

Samsung is also committing to seven years of security updates, ensuring long-term device protection.
