EastWest is removing InstaPay transfer fees for customers using its EasyWay and Komo digital banking platforms, making digital fund transfers more affordable for its clients.
The bank also confirmed that PESONet transfers will continue to be free, allowing users to move money through either real-time or scheduled payment channels without additional transfer costs.
Free transfers begin July 15
Starting July 15, EastWest customers can send money via InstaPay through the EasyWay mobile banking app and Komo without paying the usual transfer fee.
The move follows the growing shift toward digital banking and aligns with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) efforts to encourage wider adoption of cashless and digital payment services across the country.
By eliminating transfer charges, EastWest joins a growing number of financial institutions reducing transaction costs to encourage more frequent use of digital payments.
The updated pricing applies to EastWest’s two primary digital banking platforms: EasyWay and Komo. Customers using either platform will be able to send funds via InstaPay without paying transfer fees once the policy takes effect.
Meanwhile, PESONet transfers will continue to be offered free of charge, giving users another option for transferring funds without additional fees.
Digital payments continue to gain traction
Digital fund transfers have become an increasingly common way for Filipinos to pay bills, transfer money, and manage personal finances. While InstaPay offers real-time transfers, PESONet is typically used for larger, non-urgent transactions processed in batches.
With the removal of InstaPay fees alongside its existing free PESONet service, EastWest is lowering the cost of everyday digital banking while supporting the BSP’s broader goal of expanding financial inclusion through accessible digital payment channels.
