Searchlight’s In The Blink of an Eye to Stream February 27 on Disney+

Searchlight Pictures has released the official trailer for In The Blink of an Eye, directed by Academy Award winner Andrew Stanton. The film will stream exclusively on Disney+ Philippines beginning February 27.

Based on the 2016 Black List script by Colby Day, the film presents an interwoven triptych exploring humanity’s enduring need for connection across thousands of years.

A Story Told Across Three Timelines

In The Blink of an Eye unfolds through three parallel narratives set in vastly different eras.

A displaced Neanderthal family, portrayed by Jorge Vargas and Tanaya Beatty, struggles to survive in a harsh prehistoric world while protecting their children.

In the present day, Claire, played by Rashida Jones, is a post-graduate anthropologist studying proto-human remains. As she navigates her research, she also begins a relationship with fellow student Greg, portrayed by Daveed Diggs.

Two centuries in the future, aboard a spaceship bound for a distant planet, Coakley — played by Kate McKinnon — works alongside a sentient onboard computer to confront a mysterious disease threatening the vessel’s oxygen-producing plants.

Though separated by millennia, the three storylines reflect on hope, survival, and the universal desire for connection.

Creative Team Behind the Film

Stanton, best known for directing WALL·E and Finding Nemo, helms the project. Jared Ian Goldman produced the film.

Behind the camera, the production team includes cinematographer Ole Birkeland, production designer Ola Maslik, editor Mollie Goldstein. They were joined by designer Mirren Gordon-Crozier, and VFX supervisor Jake Braver.

In The Blink of an Eye premieres February 27, 2026, exclusively on Disney+ Philippines.
