LG Electronics is showcasing seven new appliances at IFA 2026, highlighting how artificial intelligence, energy efficiency, flexible designs, and space-saving features are being applied to everyday home routines.
The lineup spans refrigerators, laundry appliances, dishwashers, kitchen ventilation, and LG’s first hair dryer. While the products target different parts of the home, LG’s approach centers on automating routine decisions while making appliances easier to integrate into modern living spaces.
For Filipino consumers, the showcase offers a look at technologies that could shape LG’s next generation of home appliances. However, availability, specifications, and launch schedules will vary by market.
LG puts conversational AI inside the refrigerator
The next-generation LG SIGNATURE refrigerator brings large language model (LLM)-based conversational AI into the kitchen as part of LG’s AI Home strategy.
Users can interact with the refrigerator through natural voice commands, including asking how particular ingredients should be stored. A 6.8-inch LCD display provides access to additional controls and AI-powered cooling features.
Its AI Fresh system monitors temperature fluctuations based on usage patterns and can pre-cool the refrigerator up to two hours before an anticipated door opening.
Instead of simply adding another screen to the kitchen, LG is using AI to automate some of the decisions involved in food storage and temperature management.
AI-powered laundry aims to cut energy use
LG’s new Fit & Max washer and dryer pair combines automated fabric detection with energy-efficient operation.
The washing machine, scheduled for a European launch this year, uses up to 70% less energy than the minimum requirement for an A-grade rating. It is paired with a premium dryer that also achieves an A-grade rating under the latest energy standards.
Both appliances use LG’s Direct Drive Motor technology, while the dryer adds a Dual Inverter Heat Pump. AI Wash and AI Dry can detect fabric types and adjust their respective cycles automatically.
LG says its Direct Drive Motor technology has also received TÜV Rheinland certification for up to 30 years of operation.
A WashTower built around smaller spaces
LG is expanding its stacked laundry concept with a new 25-inch WashTower, positioned between its existing 24-inch and 27-inch models.
The new size was designed around European homes and furniture configurations, where floor space can be more limited.
The washer and dryer use Inverter Direct Drive technology for fabric care and performance. The model joins a WashTower family that LG says has surpassed 3.2 million units in global sales.
A French-door refrigerator that fits flush with cabinetry
LG’s new Fit & Max French-door refrigerator takes a different approach to space efficiency.
Its Zero Clearance design allows the refrigerator to sit flush alongside surrounding cabinetry. Inside, the Full Convert Drawer can switch between refrigeration and freezing, while Dual FRESHConverter+ provides independently controlled compartments with preset temperature modes.
The appliance also features a 6.8-inch LCD display and has received both the 2026 iF Design Award and Red Dot Design Award.
LG notes that specifications and features can differ between refrigerator models and markets.
A dishwasher that washes and dries in one hour
The new LG Fit & Max dishwasher targets one of the more time-consuming parts of cleaning up after meals with a 1-Hour Wash & Dry cycle.
Its QuadWash Pro system uses micro-bubbles to help detergent penetrate food residue, while Hybrid Air Dry improves air circulation to accelerate drying and reduce energy consumption.
The dishwasher also uses AI SenseClean, which relies on a digital turbidity sensor to measure soil levels. It can then adjust water temperature, cycle duration, and detergent usage to optimize cleaning.
LG says key models across the new lineup, covering both premium and volume segments, achieve an A-grade energy rating.
LG enters hair care with its first hair dryer
One of the more unexpected products in LG’s IFA lineup is the LG AirDew Hair Dryer, marking the company’s first entry into the hair dryer category.
The device uses LG’s patented Triple Airfluidics technology to produce high-velocity, multidimensional airflow. Temperature control and the AirGlide brush effect are designed to reduce heat exposure, retain moisture, and smooth hair while drying.
LG has also focused on ergonomics. The hair dryer weighs roughly as much as a cup of coffee and features a Rotating Plug designed to make connecting it to a power outlet easier.
Magnetic nozzles allow one-handed attachment, while users can store the dryer using either a compact cradle or a Luxury Combo Case that doubles as a stand.
A downdraft hood keeps ventilation out of sight
Completing the seven-product showcase is the next-generation LG SIGNATURE Downdraft Hood.
Unlike conventional range hoods mounted above the cooking surface, the downdraft design captures smoke and odors directly at the cooking area. Optimized airflow and motor control are intended to provide effective extraction while keeping noise down.
A built-in motion sensor also allows users to adjust extraction power without touching the appliance.
The minimalist glass-front design further emphasizes LG’s push toward kitchen appliances that integrate into the surrounding space rather than dominate it.
LG’s IFA lineup focuses on technology that fades into the background
Across its seven IFA 2026 innovations, LG is pushing a common idea: smarter appliances do not necessarily need to demand more attention from users.
AI handles fabric detection and refrigerator cooling, energy-efficient systems reduce power consumption, and space-conscious designs address increasingly compact homes. Even the AirDew Hair Dryer extends LG’s appliance technology into a new category.
