Honor of Kings x Attack on Titan Event Brings Skins, New Mode, Free Heroes

Honor of Kings rolls out one of its biggest crossover events yet, teaming up with Attack on Titan for a month-long collaboration running from May 1 to May 31.

The update anchors this year’s High Five Day, adding limited skins, a themed game mode, and progression-based rewards aimed at boosting player activity across the MOBA.

Collab Skins Headline the Event Push

The collaboration centers on a slate of anime-inspired skins tied to in-game heroes, distributed mainly through time-limited draw systems and event progression.

Zhang Fei, Jing, and Allain receive premium skins based on Eren Jaeger, Mikasa Ackermann, and Levi, respectively. These cosmetics are locked behind event banners and staggered release windows, extending engagement across the full month.

Additional themed content includes a Titan-inspired minion skin, custom background, and an Eren-themed Spriteling, all tied to separate reward tracks and currency systems.

Event Missions Offer Free Skins Through Progression

Outside of paid draws, the event introduces multiple task-based activities that reward players with free skins.

“Oaths and Truth” leads the first wave, allowing players to unlock Mayene’s Annie Leonhart skin through map exploration and stage completion. “Protect the Walls” follows, using mini-games and scoring systems to unlock Flowborn’s Armored Titan skin.

A server-wide progression event, “Repelling the Titan,” rounds out the content cycle. It pushes community participation to unlock the Scout Regiment-themed Heino skin.

Limited Game Mode Adds Titan Mechanics

A new Attack on Titan-themed mode introduces gameplay modifiers that shift the usual MOBA flow.

Players can activate an extra skill to transform into or summon Titans. These includes the Attack Titan and Armored Titan, adding burst damage and siege potential during clashes. Passive effects also trigger assists from Mikasa or Levi, reinforcing aggressive team fights and skirmishes.

These mechanics lean toward chaotic engagements and faster tempo matches, aligning with event-driven gameplay rather than ranked balance.

High Five Day Boosts Accessibility and Player Activity

From May 1 to May 7, High Five Day removes several progression barriers to encourage participation.

All heroes and purchasable skins become temporarily free, ranked protection cards are distributed, and matchmaking adjustments increase the chances of landing preferred roles. These changes typically drive spikes in player count and engagement during seasonal events.

The collaboration continues Honor of Kings’ strategy of leveraging major IP crossovers to sustain player interest between competitive cycles.

With a mix of monetized cosmetics, free rewards, and gameplay changes, the event targets both casual and competitive players. The limited mode and progression systems also provide short-term variety without impacting the core ranked environment.

As High Five Day anchors the rollout, the success of this collaboration will likely shape how Honor of Kings approaches future crossover events in 2026.
