Singapore last hosted a BWB Asia camp in 2010, and this year, the event returns with a fresh lineup of elite talent and coaching expertise, reinforcing the region’s commitment to developing future stars.

Basketball Without Borders Joins NBA’s Multiday Festival
BWB Asia isn’t just an isolated event—it will be part of the NBA’s new multiday basketball and entertainment festival in Singapore, culminating in the NBA Rising Stars Invitational.
This first-ever regional high-school basketball tournament will feature boys’ and girls’ teams from 11 Asia-Pacific countries competing at the Kallang Tennis Hub from June 25-29.
According to Troy Justice, NBA Senior Vice President and Head of International Basketball Operations, this year’s BWB Asia camp holds special significance.
“Bringing Basketball Without Borders back to Singapore reflects our commitment to growing the game in the country and across Asia-Pacific. This year’s camp is particularly special as it coincides with our new basketball and entertainment festival and the NBA Rising Stars Invitational.”
This statement underscores how Singapore is becoming a hub for basketball talent and development in the region.
FIBA’s Support for Regional Development
FIBA also recognizes the growing influence of basketball in Singapore, as noted by Kimberley Gaucher, Head of FIBA’s Players Unit.
“BWB Asia offers an incredible platform to inspire and develop the next generation of basketball talent across the region. We are confident that participants will gain invaluable experiences throughout the camp, learning meaningful lessons both on and off the court.”
With Singapore previously hosting world-class events like the FIBA Intercontinental Cup and FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup, it’s clear that this nation has the infrastructure and passion to elevate the sport even further.
Tyrese Maxey’s Excitement to Coach in Singapore
Philadelphia 76ers NBA All-Star Tyrese Maxey expressed enthusiasm for his first participation in a Basketball Without Borders camp.
“I’m excited to visit Singapore and be part of Basketball Without Borders for the first time. I look forward to working with the top young players in the region and sharing my knowledge and experiences with them.”
This direct mentorship from NBA talent gives Asia-Pacific prospects a unique opportunity to develop both their technical and mental aspects of the game.
Beyond Basketball: Community and Social Responsibility Initiatives
Basketball Without Borders goes beyond coaching drills—it focuses on social responsibility and youth empowerment.
On June 20, the NBA will host a youth clinic for boys and girls from SportCares, a Sport Singapore initiative dedicated to helping individuals from vulnerable backgrounds through sport.
Additionally, on June 21, the camp will include a coaches clinic in collaboration with FIBA, ensuring that local trainers and mentors gain valuable insights into advanced basketball coaching methods.
Nike Continues Support for Basketball Without Borders
As a global partner of Basketball Without Borders since 2002, Nike will outfit all camp participants with premium Nike apparel and footwear, ensuring that players train in top-tier gear suited for high-performance play.
