Xiaomi 17T Series Launch in the Philippines: Leica 5X Telephoto, 7000mAh Battery, and AIoT Expansion Power Ecosystem Push

Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi 17T Series in the Philippines, headlined by the 17T Pro and 17T, positioning the lineup as a photography-first flagship series supported by long battery life, AI imaging features, and deeper ecosystem integration.

Alongside the smartphones, Xiaomi also introduced new AIoT devices and smart home products, signaling a broader push to connect mobile, wearable, and home technology under a unified ecosystem powered by Xiaomi HyperOS.

Leica imaging takes center stage in Xiaomi 17T Series camera system

The biggest upgrade in the Xiaomi 17T Series launch is its Leica co-engineered imaging system, which focuses heavily on telephoto capability and motion photography.

Both models feature a 50MP triple camera setup anchored by large sensors and Leica optics tuned for detail retention and dynamic range.

Key camera features include a Leica 5x telephoto camera on both Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro, up to 120x AI Ultra Zoom for extended range shooting, 30cm macro capability for close-up detail capture, Leica Summilux lens structure for improved light intake, and a 50MP main sensor with OIS for stability.

Xiaomi is also introducing Leica Live Moment, a feature that captures motion before and after the shutter is pressed, shifting the focus from static photography to contextual storytelling. This aligns with a broader industry trend where smartphone brands are prioritizing computational photography over hardware-only upgrades.

Eye-care AMOLED display pushes brightness, refresh rate, and comfort

The Xiaomi 17T Series introduces a 1.5K AMOLED display designed for both performance and long-term viewing comfort.

The panel delivers up to 3500 nits peak brightness, up to 144Hz refresh rate on the 17T Pro, and 120Hz refresh rate on the standard 17T, along with TÜV Rheinland-certified eye-care optimization.

Xiaomi is branding its display approach as Xiaomi Vision Care, focusing on reducing blue light exposure, flicker, and motion blur while adapting brightness based on ambient conditions.

The 17T Pro further improves low-light usability with a 1-nit minimum brightness mode, targeting users who consume content in dark environments.

Battery and performance focus shift toward silicon-carbon efficiency

Power efficiency is a key theme in the Xiaomi 17T Series, with both devices adopting silicon-carbon battery technology for higher energy density without increasing device thickness.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro features a 7000mAh battery, while the standard 17T comes with a 6500mAh unit. Charging support includes 100W wired HyperCharge on the Pro model, 67W charging on the standard version, and 50W wireless charging on the Pro.

Performance is driven by MediaTek’s latest chipsets, with the Dimensity 9500 powering the 17T Pro and the Dimensity 8500-Ultra used in the standard 17T.

Both models also integrate Xiaomi’s 3D IceLoop cooling system, designed to stabilize performance under sustained gaming, video capture, and multitasking workloads.

Xiaomi expands ecosystem with AIoT devices and smart home integration

Beyond smartphones, Xiaomi used the launch to expand its AIoT ecosystem, reinforcing its strategy of interconnected devices through Xiaomi HyperOS.

New products include the Xiaomi Watch S5 46mm, Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro, Xiaomi Buds 6, Xiaomi TV S Mini LED Series 2026, and Mijia Front Load Washer Dryer 9kg.

These devices are designed to work under the Xiaomi Home app, allowing users to manage wellness tracking, entertainment, and home appliances in one platform.

This ecosystem approach reflects a broader industry shift where smartphone brands are evolving into full-stack consumer tech platforms, competing not just on devices but on integration and services.

Pricing and availability in the Philippines

Pre-orders for the Xiaomi 17T Series begin May 29, 2026 in the Philippines via Xiaomi stores and online platforms.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro starts at ₱45,999–₱47,999, while the standard Xiaomi 17T starts at ₱33,999–₱37,999.

Pre-order incentives include discounts, bundled wearables, and service packages depending on channel and variant.

With the Xiaomi 17T Series launch in the Philippines, Xiaomi is reinforcing the T-series as a balance of flagship performance and ecosystem expansion, competing directly in the mid-premium to flagship segment dominated by brands like Samsung, vivo, and OPPO.

The addition of Leica imaging, large-capacity batteries, and AI-driven ecosystem integration suggests the Xiaomi 17T Series is no longer positioned as just a camera phone, but as a central device in a connected smart lifestyle setup.
