Garmin is expanding its flagship multisport smartwatch lineup in the Philippines with the fēnix 9 and fēnix 9 Pro, bringing upgraded training features, improved navigation, and longer battery life to athletes and outdoor enthusiasts.
The fēnix 9 starts at PHP 62,690, while the fēnix 9 Pro starts at PHP 72,690. Both models will be available beginning September 16, with pre-orders running from August 27 to September 10.
Smarter training and navigation tools
The standard fēnix 9 focuses on improving the training and navigation features already associated with Garmin’s flagship outdoor smartwatch series.
Its AMOLED display is twice as bright as its predecessor, while a scratch-resistant sapphire lens, leakproof buttons, and a dive rating of up to 40 meters are designed to make the watch suitable for demanding outdoor activities.
Garmin has also expanded its performance tracking capabilities with new stamina metrics. These include stamina zones and a stamina curve, which show how endurance changes over time based on an athlete’s fitness gains and training history.
For indoor rowing, the watch can provide additional metrics such as VO2 Max and power curve data, giving users more information to track progress and adjust workout intensity.
Garmin Epic turns activities into shareable stories
One of the more notable software additions is Garmin Epic, a free feature integrated into Garmin Connect. It allows users to group multiple recorded activities from several days, weeks, or months into a single story. Users can combine performance and health data with photos before sharing their experiences with friends and family.
Garmin is also adding more tools for rucking. Users can adjust pack weight during an activity, follow GORUCK workouts directly from the watch, and set targets such as calories burned with pack weights of up to 100kg.
Navigation gets an upgrade as well. The fēnix 9 has 50% more RAM than the fēnix 8 and uses an updated map engine that allows map panning up to 30% faster. The watch also introduces a perspective view for maps and comes with 64GB of storage, enough for twice as many maps as the fēnix 8 and up to 7,000 songs.
The fēnix 9 comes in three sizes: 43mm, 47mm, and 51mm.
fēnix 9 Pro brings titanium and a larger AMOLED display
The fēnix 9 Pro builds on the features of the standard model while introducing a new physical design and additional options aimed at users who want a more premium outdoor smartwatch.
Most notably, it is the first fēnix smartwatch to feature a titanium watch case. Garmin uses nano-molding technology to combine metal and plastic, allowing the company to reduce the watch’s thickness while retaining its rugged construction.
The Pro models also feature AMOLED displays with brightness of up to 3,000 nits, improving visibility for maps and workout information in bright outdoor conditions.
The 51mm fēnix 9 Pro gets Garmin’s largest AMOLED display yet on a fēnix smartwatch at 1.5 inches. The display is 15% larger than the one on the fēnix 8 while retaining the same case size.
Selected Pro models also feature solar-charging displays, extending battery life to as much as 57 days in smartwatch mode.
For nighttime activities, Garmin has added a green-light mode to the integrated LED flashlight. The feature is intended to help preserve night vision while providing illumination in darker environments.
Battery life reaches up to 57 days
Battery life remains a major differentiator for the fēnix lineup, particularly for users who spend extended periods away from a charger.
The largest fēnix 9 can last up to 29 days in smartwatch mode, while the fēnix 9 Pro reaches up to 31 days with the largest AMOLED configuration.
Solar-charging Pro models can extend that figure to as much as 57 days, depending on the specific model and conditions.
Garmin is also introducing ComfortFit accessory bands for both watches. The fabric bands use a split-weave construction designed to balance flexibility, durability, moisture resistance, and comfort, while retaining compatibility with Garmin’s QuickFit system.
Price and availability in the Philippines
The Garmin fēnix 9 and fēnix 9 Pro will officially become available in the Philippines on September 16, 2026.
The fēnix 9 is priced at ₱62,690 and offers up to 29 days of battery life, while the fēnix 9 Pro costs ₱72,690 with up to 31 days of battery life. Battery life on the fēnix 9 Pro Solar models can reach up to 57 days, depending on the configuration.
