HUAWEI is bringing its latest MatePad Air to the Philippines on September 11, giving users a tablet built around a larger OLED display, PC-like productivity tools, and AI-assisted features for work, study, and creative tasks.
The new MatePad Air measures just 5.3mm thick and weighs 509g, while packing a 12-inch 2.8K OLED display and a 10,100mAh battery. Philippine buyers can also get a launch bundle worth up to ₱33,886 during the pre-order period.
A larger canvas for work and entertainment
The MatePad Air features a 12-inch 2.8K Ultra-clear OLED display with HUAWEI’s PaperMatte technology.
The OLED panel is designed to deliver vibrant colors and detailed visuals for everything from documents and presentations to video streaming, content editing, and digital art.
PaperMatte uses a nano-level etching process to reduce glare and reflections while giving the screen a more paper-like feel for writing and touch interactions.
The display is surrounded by a 4.69mm bezel, giving users more screen real estate without making the tablet substantially bulkier.
AI moves beyond simple note-taking
HUAWEI is also leaning heavily into AI, positioning the MatePad Air as a productivity device rather than simply a larger screen for mobile apps.
The tablet comes with an upgraded PC-Level WPS Office, including WPS AI features for document creation, spreadsheets, presentations, and other office tasks.
Meanwhile, HUAWEI Notes can transcribe speech into text, organize recorded discussions into structured notes, and solve mathematical equations. These tools are aimed at reducing the manual work involved in taking notes and processing information.
For artists, the upgraded GoPaint app adds AI-assisted creative features, including tools for capturing and applying color combinations during digital artwork.
Turn the tablet into a mobile workstation
The MatePad Air can be paired with HUAWEI’s M-Pencil Pro and Smart Magnetic Keyboard to expand its capabilities.
The M-Pencil Pro supports handwriting and drawing, but can also function as a mouse through its Air Mouse mode, letting users scroll and navigate files without switching peripherals.
The Smart Magnetic Keyboard, meanwhile, provides a more conventional typing experience for documents and other productivity tasks.
Both accessories use NearLink technology for wireless connectivity, with HUAWEI touting faster connections and lower latency.
Slim body, large battery
The MatePad Air packs a 10,100mAh battery into its 509g chassis, with HUAWEI claiming up to 18 hours of HDR video playback.
Its 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge Turbo can replenish the battery in as little as 30 minutes, according to the company.
The tablet is available with up to 12GB of physical RAM and 256GB of storage, while HUAWEI’s virtual memory expansion can allocate another 8GB from the internal storage.
The device comes in an Airy Blue finish with a pearlescent look.
Up to ₱33,886 worth of pre-order freebies
HUAWEI’s Philippine launch campaign began on September 7, with shoppers able to claim ₱5,000 worth of vouchers through Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok.
Customers can also reserve the MatePad Air through the HUAWEI Online Store with a ₱500 deposit, which comes with ₱7,000 off the remaining balance.
Pre-orders starting September 11 come with a bundle worth up to ₱33,886. The package includes the HUAWEI Smart Magnetic Keyboard worth ₱9,999, HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro worth ₱7,999, PC-Level WPS Office worth ₱4,999, Bluetooth Mouse worth ₱1,899, a one-year WPS AI Membership worth ₱7,000, and an exclusive bag worth ₱1,990.
HUAWEI is also offering 0% installment plans of up to 24 months when customers use select bank credit or debit cards.
With the MatePad Air, HUAWEI is taking a familiar tablet formula and pushing it toward PC-style productivity, pairing a large OLED display with AI-powered software and accessories that make the device more suitable for work and creation.
