HONOR Philippines marked the local launch of the Magic V6 with the inaugural HONOR Magic V6 Golf Cup, bringing together celebrities, content creators, golf personalities, and enthusiasts for a day of competition at the golf course.
Held on August 24, the tournament featured personalities including Marvin Agustin, Malupiton, Marvi Monsalve, GP Reyes, Patricia Hizon, Vince Hizon, Jesse Guerrero, and Justin Pitt, among others.
The event combined a competitive golf tournament with an opportunity for participants to experience HONOR’s latest flagship foldable in an outdoor setting.
Jesse Guerrero leads Individual Division 1
Several players took top honors across the tournament’s different divisions.
Jesse Guerrero led Individual Division 1 with a score of 74 and also claimed the Longest Drive award after hitting 266 yards. Dante Felizarta won Individual Division 2 with 82, while Henson See topped Individual Division 3 with 81. Jeremy Tiu took Individual Division 4 with 88, and Patricia Hizon finished as the Ladies Division champion with 87.
The Team Champion title went to Josh Fabella, Dante Felizarta, Carlo Gonzales, and Mike Medina, who posted a combined score of 67.
Carlo Gonzales also claimed the Nearest Pin award after finishing just 76 centimeters from the target, while Edwin Rollon received the Most Honest Award.
HONOR Magic V6 gets its own turn on the course
Beyond the tournament itself, HONOR used the event to showcase the Magic V6, which served as the event’s presenting device.
Guests were able to experience the foldable throughout the day, including its cameras and other features in an environment outside the usual indoor product-demo setting.
The Magic V6 combines a slim foldable form factor with flagship hardware, AI features, durability-focused construction, and a 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery.
HONOR Philippines Vice President Stephen Cheng said the company wanted the event to reflect the characteristics it associates with the Magic V6, particularly performance and precision.
A different approach to a smartphone launch
The HONOR Magic V6 Golf Cup brought together a mix of public personalities and members of the local golf community as part of HONOR Philippines’ launch activities for its latest foldable.
Rather than centering the event solely on product demonstrations, the tournament placed the Magic V6 alongside a competitive sporting event, giving participants an opportunity to interact with the device while taking part in the tournament.
The event also adds another layer to HONOR’s local marketing push for the Magic V6 as the company expands its flagship foldable lineup in the Philippines.
