HoYoverse has announced that Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.7, titled “Champions Never Fall to the Past,” will launch on March 24, introducing the Hollow Champion Competition, new playable agents, and themed events across New Eridu.
The update centers on a citywide tournament organized by TOPS, bringing together fighters from various factions as Proxies join the battle for prestige and rare rewards.
Hollow Champion Competition Begins
The Hollow Champion Competition draws combatants from across New Eridu and even the Outer Ring, with participants seeking both glory and powerful rewards such as the rare Porcelloy W-Engine.
Familiar factions including the Cunning Hares and the Sons of Calydon will appear in the tournament, alongside newcomers like the Metropolitan Order Division from Public Security. Rumors also point to the involvement of former Calydon Sweepers.
One of the notable figures entering the competition is Romeul, also known as the Black Wolf. In battle, Romeul can activate a Corruptive Barrier that increases his resistance to critical damage and interruptions while continuously draining the HP of nearby opponents. Teams capable of sustained Anomaly damage will be better equipped to break through this defense.
New Agents Join the Roster
Version 2.7 introduces two new S-Rank agents: Cissia and Nangong Yu.
Cissia, a member of the Metropolitan Order Division, is an Electric Attack agent who enters battle with three stacks of Venom. Each stack deals Electric damage and temporarily boosts her CRIT Rate. While the stacks fade over time, Cissia can generate additional Venom through her EX Special Attack and consume them with her Serpent’s Kiss basic attack to unleash bursts of damage.
Meanwhile, Nangong Yu leads the Angels of Delusion and fights as an Ether Stun agent. She enhances her squad’s Anomaly buildup rate against stunned enemies while regenerating a resource called Downbeat during combat. Once enough Downbeat is accumulated, she can unleash powerful charged attacks that extend stun duration and increase the team’s offensive potential.
Her ultimate ability, Ether Veil: Delusion Reprise, boosts the entire squad’s attack power. Players who collect all members of the Angels of Delusion faction can also unlock a special faction wallpaper.
In addition to the new agents, S-Rank Ice Rupture agent Yidhari and Electric Attack agent Seed will return in Version 2.7.
New Events and Activities
Outside the battlefield, Version 2.7 also introduces themed activities centered around the Simmer Hot Pot Restaurant in Lumina Square. Players can assist Blaze while taking part in a hotpot-themed mini-event.
Another activity tied to HSOS 6 challenges players to complete a relay-style combat mission using three separate two-member squads.
The Simulated Battle Trial mode also receives updates, including new enemy lineups and additional gameplay mechanics. Players can compete for higher leaderboard rankings while earning rewards such as Polychromes, exclusive titles, and a new namecard.
