Lenovo named EWC 2026 founding partner, powers tournament with Legion gaming hardware

Lenovo has expanded its partnership with the Esports Foundation (EF), becoming a Global Founding Partner of the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026 and supplying its Legion gaming hardware for the world’s largest esports tournament.

The partnership will see Lenovo’s gaming desktops, monitors, and other devices power competition stages, player training facilities, broadcast operations, and fan activations throughout the seven-week event in Paris, France.

Lenovo powers EWC 2026 competition

Scheduled from July 6 to August 23, the Esports World Cup 2026 will welcome more than 2,000 players, 200 esports clubs, and fans from over 100 countries competing across 24 game titles and 25 tournaments.

Competitors will play on Lenovo Legion Tower 7i and Legion Tower 5i desktop PCs paired with Legion gaming monitors, while Lenovo technology will also support tournament broadcasts and practice facilities.

“We are excited to welcome Lenovo as a Global Founding Partner for the Esports World Cup 2026,” said Mohammed Al Nimer, Chief Commercial Officer of the Esports Foundation.

He added that reliable technology is essential to delivering the thousands of matches and broadcast hours expected during the tournament.

Meanwhile, Volker Düring, Vice President and General Manager of Gaming Business at Lenovo’s Intelligent Devices Group, said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to equipping professional esports athletes with high-performance gaming hardware.

Legion Pro Rollable Concept showcased

Lenovo will also showcase its latest innovation, the Legion Pro Rollable Concept, during the event.

First unveiled at CES 2026, the concept gaming laptop features a 16-inch Lenovo PureSight OLED display that can expand to 21.5 inches or 24 inches, giving players a larger screen while maintaining portability.

Visitors attending the Esports World Cup will be able to try the device firsthand at the Lenovo Legion booth.

Fan experiences and giveaways

Lenovo branding will appear throughout EWC 2026 broadcasts and venue activations, including the Legion Gauntlet stage and dedicated festival zones where attendees can experience Legion laptops, tablets, and gaming peripherals.

Fans participating in onsite activities will also have opportunities to win Lenovo Legion products, while exclusive behind-the-scenes content will be published across Lenovo’s channels during the tournament.

The expanded partnership follows Lenovo’s involvement in EWC 2025, where more than 2,000 Legion devices supported tournament operations, creator zones, festival activities, and broadcast production.

According to Lenovo, Legion branding appeared across all 24 game titles throughout the seven-week event, reaching an estimated 750 million viewers worldwide.

The Esports World Cup 2026 will feature a record-breaking more than US$75 million prize pool, making it the largest esports tournament in the world.
