EastWest–foodpanda Visa Card Targets Food Delivery Users With Cashback Model

EastWest and foodpanda are responding to that shift with the EastWest–foodpanda Visa Credit Card, a co-branded card designed around recurring food delivery habits and in-app rewards.

As food delivery becomes part of everyday life for many Filipinos, payment behavior is evolving alongside it. Regular users are no longer simply chasing limited-time promos. Instead, many are looking for payment options that integrate seamlessly into their existing digital routines.

Food Delivery Shifts From Occasional Treat to Weekly Routine

For urban consumers, food delivery now fits into a predictable weekly cycle — quick weekday lunches, late-night orders, or weekend family meals. As frequency increases, so does the focus on convenience and simplified rewards.

Rather than switching between apps or tracking separate loyalty programs, digitally engaged users are increasingly drawn to systems that consolidate ordering, payment, and rewards within a single ecosystem.

Cashback Credited Directly to pandapay

The EastWest–foodpanda Visa Credit Card offers up to 10% cashback on foodpanda transactions. Instead of requiring manual redemption, cashback is credited directly to pandapay, foodpanda’s in-app wallet.

This structure creates what users describe as a continuous reward loop: order, pay, receive cashback inside the same platform, and apply it to the next transaction.

Beyond food delivery, the card offers 0.3% cashback on domestic purchases and 1% on overseas transactions, with a total monthly cashback cap of ₱1,000.

Introductory Offers and Digital Application Process

The first 50,000 approved and active cardholders will receive six months of complimentary pandapro membership. New users also receive a waived annual fee for the first year.

Cardholders who complete their application by January 31 and spend at least ₱1,000 within the first 30 days of activation will receive a ₱500 cash credit.

Applications are processed digitally through EastWest’s ESTA platform. The card operates on Visa’s global payment network, allowing use for in-store, online, and overseas transactions.

Payments That Build on Existing Habits

As digital payments continue to expand in the Philippines, financial products are increasingly being designed around existing user behavior rather than encouraging new spending patterns.

For frequent food delivery users, the EastWest–foodpanda Visa Credit Card positions itself as a tool that simplifies recurring transactions — turning weekly orders into a structured cashback cycle instead of one-off discounts.
