PLDT Enterprise Partners With Lin Man to Expand Smart Metering

PLDT Enterprise has partnered with Lin Man Power Technology, Inc. to accelerate the rollout of smart metering solutions across the Philippines, supporting efforts to improve billing accuracy, reduce system losses, and strengthen power service reliability nationwide.

The collaboration brings together PLDT Enterprise’s digital infrastructure and Lin Man’s expertise as a Filipino-owned solutions provider for electric cooperatives and private power companies.

Driving Digital Transformation in Utilities

Based in Santa Rosa, Laguna, Lin Man Power Technology serves electricity providers across the country by delivering technology-driven solutions designed to improve power distribution and operational efficiency.

As part of its modernization push, the company is deploying electric smart meters that provide real-time usage data, enhance system visibility, and enable more accurate billing.

These smart meters use Smart Internet of Things (IoT) SIMs, leveraging Smart’s nationwide network coverage to ensure stable connectivity even in geographically challenging areas.

By replacing traditional meters, utilities gain better data insights while consumers benefit from more transparent and dependable power services.

Benefits for Power Companies and Consumers

The rollout of smart meters will improve operational efficiency and significantly reduce both technical and non-technical system losses.

For consumers, the shift translates to clearer billing, improved service reliability, and greater confidence in power consumption data.

PLDT Enterprise said the initiative aligns with its broader goal of helping modernize essential services through digital solutions.

Building Future-Ready Utilities

“Our goal is to support organizations that play a vital role in delivering essential services to communities and enterprises,” said Jay Lagdameo, Vice President and Head of Enterprise Revenue Group at PLDT Enterprise.

“By leveraging Smart’s extensive network coverage and PLDT Enterprise’s digital solutions, we are enabling the deployment of smart metering technologies that promote transparency, efficiency, and long-term sustainability in the utilities sector,” he added.

Lin Man Power Technology Chairman Jovita Yeo said reliable connectivity is critical to implementing smart metering at scale.

“With PLDT Enterprise supporting our initiatives, we are better positioned to help electric cooperatives modernize operations and deliver more transparent and dependable power services nationwide,” Yeo said.

As power providers across the Philippines continue to modernize their systems, the partnership highlights the growing role of digital infrastructure in strengthening essential public utilities.
