vivo staged a live fashion photography showcase in Manila featuring its flagship vivo X300 Ultra, positioning the device in a direct head-to-head shoot against a professional mirrorless camera setup.
Held at Manila House, the event gathered media, photographers, and Manila’s fashion crowd to witness how smartphone imaging performs in a real editorial environment. The highlight of the showcase came from a live shoot led by celebrity photographer BJ Pascual featuring Anne Curtis and Marian Rivera.
The shoot was designed as a side-by-side comparison, capturing the same models using both a professional camera system and the vivo X300 Ultra to test whether mobile photography can now operate at editorial production level.
Live fashion shoot puts smartphone imaging in real editorial conditions
Unlike a traditional product demo, vivo structured the event as a working fashion shoot, with BJ Pascual capturing images in real time using both setups.
The mirrorless system relied on multiple lenses for different focal lengths, while the X300 Ultra aimed to replicate that flexibility through a unified system built around its ZEISS triple-camera configuration.
The setup turned the showcase into a controlled but practical stress test of mobile imaging under professional lighting, styling, and direction conditions.

ZEISS triple-camera system positioned as mirrorless alternative
At the center of the comparison is the vivo X300 Ultra’s ZEISS-engineered camera system under vivo and ZEISS, which includes a 14mm ZEISS Ultra Wide-Angle Camera, 35mm ZEISS Documentary Camera, and 85mm ZEISS Gimbal-Grade APO Telephoto Camera.
vivo designed the system to mirror the logic of a traditional lens kit, offering multiple focal lengths without requiring physical lens changes.
During the shoot, the device was also used to demonstrate portrait depth, zoom clarity, and consistency across focal ranges—key areas typically dominated by interchangeable-lens cameras.
Celebrity feedback highlights ease of use and cinematic output
The presence of Anne Curtis and Marian Rivera added a lifestyle layer to the technical demonstration, reinforcing how the device performs in real content creation scenarios.
Rivera emphasized the phone’s ease of use and cinematic results for everyday and professional content. Curtis highlighted its ability to capture fine detail, especially in fashion and storytelling contexts where texture and lighting matter.
Their participation framed the X300 Ultra not just as a technical upgrade, but as a creator-focused device built for fast, high-quality output without complex camera setups.

4K video, LOG capture, and 200MP imaging extend creative flexibility
Beyond photography, vivo also showcased the X300 Ultra’s video capabilities, including 4K 120fps recording, 10-bit LOG capture, and Dolby Vision support across all rear cameras.
Combined with its high-resolution imaging system, the device targets creators working in fashion, editorial, and short-form video production who need both flexibility and post-production control.
Smartphone imaging continues to move into professional spaces
The Manila showcase reflects a growing trend in mobile imaging: smartphones are increasingly being tested in real production environments rather than controlled product demos.
By staging a fashion shoot with industry creatives and celebrities, vivo positioned the X300 Ultra as part of a broader shift where mobile devices are now evaluated alongside traditional camera systems in professional workflows.
Pre-orders for the vivo X300 Ultra in the Philippines remain open until June 5.
