HUAWEI has opened pre-orders for the HUAWEI MatePad Air in the Philippines, positioning its latest tablet as a portable productivity device with a 12-inch OLED display, PC-level WPS Office tools, and AI-powered features.
Available for pre-order from September 11 to 17, the MatePad Air starts at ₱59,999, down from its ₱64,999 regular price. Buyers can also receive a bundle of accessories and software benefits worth up to ₱33,886 during the pre-order period.
The tablet is designed around users who need to move between work, content creation, meetings, and entertainment without carrying a traditional laptop.
A 12-inch OLED display built for work and creativity
The HUAWEI MatePad Air features a 12-inch 2.8K Ultra-Clear OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, up to 1,200 nits peak brightness, and P3 cinema-grade color coverage.
Its 4.69mm bezels maximize the available screen area, while HUAWEI’s PaperMatte Display uses a nano-level etching process to reduce glare and reflections.
The combination is aimed at users who spend extended periods reading documents, editing content, writing, or sketching on the tablet.
AI tools bring PC-style productivity to the tablet
HUAWEI is also positioning AI as a core part of the MatePad Air’s productivity experience.
The tablet comes with a PC-Level WPS Office Suite with AI-powered tools for documents, presentations, PDFs, and spreadsheets. WPS AI PDF Reading can summarize lengthy documents, while text optimization helps refine or shorten drafts. Users can also generate PowerPoint presentations from ideas or source materials and create Excel charts from existing data.
The HUAWEI Notes app adds AI-powered speech-to-text for capturing discussions and meetings, along with a tool that can solve mathematical equations.
Rather than treating AI as a standalone feature, HUAWEI is integrating these tools into everyday productivity tasks, particularly those involving document processing, content creation, data visualization, and information capture.
The tablet can become a 4-in-1 workstation
The MatePad Air can also be configured as a portable workstation through HUAWEI’s NearLink accessories.
The HUAWEI Smart Magnetic Keyboard, mouse, and HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro allow users to switch between traditional typing, presentations, handwriting, and creative work.
The M-Pencil Pro supports more than 16,000 levels of pressure sensitivity and includes specialized tips for different writing and drawing tasks. Its Air Mouse feature can also control PowerPoint presentations remotely, including changing slides and activating a laser pointer.
The keyboard weighs 308g and supports desktop-style shortcut combinations and two viewing angles.
Thin design with a 10,100mAh battery
Despite its productivity-focused hardware, the MatePad Air measures just 5.3mm thick and weighs 509g.
HUAWEI offers the tablet in Airy Blue, featuring a pearlescent finish created through an e-coating process. A contoured body is designed to make the device easier to grip, while the rear uses HUAWEI’s Star Ring camera design.
The tablet packs a 10,100mAh battery rated for up to 18 hours of HDR video playback. Its 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge Turbo can replenish the battery in 30 minutes, according to HUAWEI.
Other hardware includes 12GB of physical RAM, 256GB of storage, an additional 8GB of virtual memory, a 3D heat-dissipation system, and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.

The HUAWEI MatePad Air has a regular price of ₱64,999 in the Philippines, but buyers can pre-order the tablet for ₱59,999 from September 11 to 17.
The pre-order bundle is valued at up to ₱33,886 and includes a HUAWEI Smart Magnetic Keyboard worth ₱7,999, a one-year WPS AI Membership worth ₱7,000, the PC-Level WPS Office Suite worth ₱4,999, a Bluetooth Mouse worth ₱1,899, and an exclusive bag worth ₱1,990.
Buyers can also get additional savings of up to ₱5,000 through selected offers on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok, while vouchers worth up to ₱6,500 are available through the HUAWEI Online Store. Selected bank credit and debit cards also support 0% installment plans of up to 24 months.
