NARAKA: BLADEPOINT is marking its fifth anniversary with one of its largest content updates to date. Launching on July 2, the “GIVE ME FIVE” anniversary update introduces the game’s first amphibious battlefield, a dedicated underwater combat system, a new playable hero, an extraction-focused mode, and a lineup of free anniversary rewards.
Developer 24 Entertainment and publisher NetEase Games unveiled the update during the NARAKA FEST DIRECT 2026 livestream, outlining new gameplay mechanics and future content planned for the battle royale title.
Wanchu introduces NARAKA: BLADEPOINT’s first underwater battlefield
The centerpiece of the anniversary update is Wanchu, the first map in NARAKA: BLADEPOINT built around both land and underwater combat.
Unlike the game’s existing battlefields, Wanchu expands combat into a three-dimensional environment where players can swim vertically during battles, dodge attacks underwater by creating whirlpools, execute exclusive underwater finishing moves, and seamlessly transition between submerged areas and surface terrain.

The new battlefield also introduces an oxygen management system that requires players to monitor their stamina while underwater. As stamina is depleted, health gradually drains, adding an extra layer of strategy to prolonged underwater engagements.
Beyond its new traversal mechanics, Wanchu features five interactive zones that provide unique buffs, rewards, and strategic resources. Dynamic weather and changing tides can uncover hidden treasure vaults, while high-tier equipment periodically drops across the battlefield, encouraging players to adapt their tactics as the environment evolves throughout each match.
New hero Ye Xiu arrives with transforming weapon
The anniversary update also expands the roster with Ye Xiu, a hero designed around mobility, counterattacks, and aggressive close-range combat.
Ye Xiu debuts alongside the Kaleidoscope Parasol, the game’s first transforming weapon. Players can switch between multiple combat forms, allowing the weapon to adapt to both offensive and defensive situations during battles.
The addition continues NARAKA: BLADEPOINT’s focus on melee combat by introducing new mechanics that encourage varied playstyles rather than relying on a single weapon approach.
Stormchant adds an extraction-style experience
Beyond battle royale gameplay, the July update introduces Stormchant, a new extraction-focused map inspired by the era of the founding emperor of China’s Emperor Gaozu of Han.
Players venture into underground caverns leading to Baidi Palace, where they must battle the ancient White Snake boss while attempting to rescue an emperor.
The mode expands NARAKA: BLADEPOINT’s gameplay offerings by introducing PvE encounters alongside its established competitive combat systems.

Anniversary rewards include free cosmetics and premium items
To celebrate the fifth anniversary of NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, players will receive a wide range of free in-game rewards through the game’s anniversary activities.
The giveaway includes premium character skins, cosmetics, login bonuses, the Extreme Temulch outfit, Tae Craftsman Orbs, permanent treasure chests, 15 exclusive cosmetics, soccer-themed outfits, Ultimate accessories, and the Kaleidoscope Parasol weapon skin.
The anniversary campaign serves as a thank-you to the community while encouraging both returning and new players to experience the latest update and its new content.
More heroes and collaborations planned for 2026
During the anniversary livestream, NetEase Games also previewed upcoming content beyond the July update.
For the first time, NARAKA: BLADEPOINT will release two new heroes within a single season, with Nangong scheduled to arrive later during the September season.
The developers also teased future crossover collaborations involving museums, Antarctic research organizations, anime franchises, and additional partnerships, signaling continued support for the game beyond its fifth anniversary.
With the introduction of amphibious combat, expanded game modes, and a steady content roadmap, the anniversary update represents one of the most significant gameplay expansions NARAKA: BLADEPOINT has received since its launch.
