TCL is strengthening its commitment to Filipino technical education with the second batch of its training program in partnership with TESDA, focusing on installation, repair, and maintenance of domestic air-conditioning systems.
The initiative builds on last year’s pilot run and shifts toward a more hands-on hybrid learning model designed to improve job readiness in the HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning) sector. The program aims to bridge the gap between technical training and industry employment.
Hybrid training model shifts focus to hands-on HVAC skills
The 2026 batch introduces a longer and more immersive curriculum compared to its initial rollout, combining technical lectures with practical application under TCL’s training program.
TCL said the shift from a lecture-heavy format to a hybrid setup is intended to better prepare learners for real-world industry demands, particularly in servicing modern and connected cooling systems.
Key training components include air-conditioning installation and system setup, repair and maintenance procedures, technical troubleshooting and diagnostics, and hands-on work with TCL split-type AC units.
Industry partnership aims to strengthen employment pathways
The training program was conducted at the TCL–TESDA Center in TESDA RTC-NCR, where 25 trainees completed a three-day intensive session. The program also included participation from TCL product and service teams, alongside authorized dealer partners.
Beyond technical instruction, the initiative integrates employment linkage activities. Trainees were evaluated through a structured assessment and mini job fair on the final day, allowing potential employers to identify candidates for technical roles and dealership opportunities.
TESDA officials emphasized the role of public-private partnerships in improving workforce competitiveness, while TCL positioned the program as part of its broader talent development pipeline for the HVAC industry.
Smart HVAC training includes connected home technology
Aside from traditional HVAC systems, trainees were also introduced to TCL’s connected ecosystem, including smart home features such as mobile app control and voice command integration. The program reflects the increasing shift toward IoT-enabled appliances in the consumer electronics space.
By incorporating smart system training, TCL aims to prepare technicians for evolving service requirements in modern households, where connectivity and automation are becoming standard features.
The initiative also connected trainees with TCL’s dealer network, creating potential pathways for employment or business opportunities within the brand’s authorized service ecosystem.

The expansion of TCL’s TESDA program comes amid increasing demand for skilled HVAC technicians in the Philippines, driven by urban development, rising appliance adoption, and climate-related cooling needs.
By investing in structured technical education, TCL and TESDA are positioning the program as both a skills development platform and a long-term workforce pipeline for the local air-conditioning industry.
