Infinix NOTE Edge Debuts with MediaTek Dimensity 7100, Introduces XOS 16
Infinix has unveiled the NOTE Edge, marking the first smartphone to launch with MediaTek’s new Dimensity 7100 chipset alongside the debut of XOS 16, the brand’s Android 16–based operating system.
The release signals Infinix’s push to bring newer platform-level technologies into the mid-range segment, targeting users who want 5G performance and system-level upgrades without stepping into flagship pricing.
The NOTE Edge also represents a deeper collaboration between Infinix and MediaTek, with both companies positioning the device as a showcase for efficiency-focused 5G performance and tighter hardware-software integration. The smartphone is set to launch globally on February 24.
MediaTek Dimensity 7100 Focuses on Accessible 5G Performance
As the first device powered by the Dimensity 7100, the Infinix NOTE Edge is designed to address persistent challenges around 5G consistency and power efficiency, particularly in non-flagship devices. Infinix said the chipset has been co-optimized with MediaTek to deliver stable connectivity while keeping power consumption low during daily use.

The device includes network optimizations aimed at high-density and weak-signal environments. According to Infinix, these enhancements reduce lag and improve video playback performance in crowded areas, while also delivering more stable streaming and lower latency in locations such as subways, industrial zones, and rural areas.
On the performance side, the NOTE Edge supports high frame rate gaming, running titles like Honor of Kings at up to 90 FPS and PUBG: Battlegrounds at 60 FPS. The company said the chipset is tuned to maintain thermal stability during extended sessions, supporting multitasking, gaming, and media use without significant performance drops.
Power efficiency remains a core focus of the Dimensity 7100 platform. Infinix noted reductions in modem power consumption and background energy use for social apps, helping extend battery life during prolonged daily use, including gaming, streaming, and commuting scenarios.
XOS 16 Brings Visual and Interaction Upgrades on Android 16
The NOTE Edge is also the first Infinix device to ship with XOS 16, the brand’s in-house operating system built on Android 16. The update introduces a refreshed interface designed to feel lighter and more responsive, with visual changes centered on what Infinix calls the Glow Space design language.

XOS 16 incorporates light-sensitive edges, blur transitions, and semi-transparent UI elements across menus and system controls. These changes are paired with new 3D spatial wallpapers that add depth to the home screen, creating layered interactions between icons, widgets, and the clock.
Beyond visuals, XOS 16 focuses on interaction responsiveness. Infinix said system animations now adapt more precisely to user inputs, improving synchronization between touch actions and on-screen feedback. The update also adds Live Photo sharing with iPhone devices, allowing motion-enabled photos to transfer across platforms while retaining image quality and audio.
Mid-Rang e Device Highlights Hardware-Software Coordination
By launching both the Dimensity 7100 and XOS 16 on the NOTE Edge, Infinix is emphasizing tighter coordination between hardware and software within the mid-range category. The company said this approach delivers measurable gains in performance stability, power efficiency, and overall system smoothness, areas typically associated with higher-end devices.
The Infinix NOTE Edge will be available in multiple color options, including Silk Green, with more regional availability details expected closer to launch. Alongside the device release, Infinix is also rolling out a limited-time promotional campaign tied to the NOTE Edge’s debut.
The NOTE Edge officially launches on February 24, 2026, as Infinix looks to strengthen its position in the competitive mid-range 5G smartphone market.
