HUAWEI unveils WATCH FIT 5 Series, nova 15 Max at Bangkok launch event

HUAWEI expanded its connected ecosystem with a new lineup of smartwatches and smartphones during its “Now Is Your Spark” launch event in Bangkok, Thailand.

Leading the announcement were the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Series, the HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2 Racing Legend Edition, and the HUAWEI nova 15 Max. The company positions the new devices as part of its broader push toward all-scenario technology, combining health tracking, fitness features, entertainment, and productivity across its ecosystem.

The launch comes as wearable brands continue to compete heavily in the growing fitness and lifestyle market, where battery life, health monitoring, and cross-device connectivity have become key selling points.

HUAWEI expands WATCH FIT lineup with Pro variant

The HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Series introduces two models: the WATCH FIT 5 and the WATCH FIT 5 Pro.

Huawei retains the square watch design seen in previous WATCH FIT generations while adding updated materials and expanded wellness features. The WATCH FIT 5 Pro uses a titanium body paired with sapphire glass, targeting users seeking a more premium smartwatch experience.

Key features of the WATCH FIT 5 Pro include ECG monitoring, diabetic risk study features, guided mini workouts, outdoor sports tracking, and battery life of up to 10 days. Meanwhile, the standard WATCH FIT 5 focuses on lightweight everyday usability while still offering more than 100 sports modes alongside health and wellness management tools.

The series also expands sports support with modes for cycling, golf, trail running, and tennis.

Through the WATCH FIT lineup, Huawei continues to position itself against mainstream fitness-focused wearables by combining smart features with extended battery life, an area where many Android-compatible smartwatches still face limitations.

WATCH GT Runner 2 targets serious runners

Alongside the WATCH FIT 5 Series, HUAWEI also introduced the WATCH GT Runner 2 Racing Legend Edition.

The smartwatch focuses heavily on running analytics and training support. It features a new Running Ability Index (RAI) alongside an upgraded Training Camp Dashboard aimed at helping runners monitor performance and training progress more effectively.

The launch reflects the growing focus among wearable brands on specialized fitness tracking, particularly for runners and endurance athletes looking for deeper performance insights beyond standard heart rate monitoring.

HUAWEI nova 15 Max brings large battery and OLED display

Huawei also expanded its smartphone lineup with the Huawei nova 15 Max, a device aimed at younger users seeking entertainment-focused features and extended battery life.

The smartphone features a 50MP RYYB Ultra Vision Camera, a 6.84-inch OLED display, symmetrical stereo dual speakers, and a large 8,500mAh battery. It also carries an SGS 5-Star durability certification, reinforcing its focus on long-term everyday use.

Huawei says the camera system is optimized to improve low-light and backlit photography, while the high-capacity battery is designed for users who spend long hours on mobile gaming, streaming, and content consumption throughout the day.

The company continues to emphasize hardware durability and battery endurance as smartphone buyers increasingly prioritize longevity, reliability, and all-day usability.

HUAWEI continues ecosystem push in Southeast Asia

The launch highlights HUAWEI’s ongoing strategy of expanding its ecosystem of smartphones, wearables, and connected devices across Southeast Asia, including the Philippines.

Rather than focusing solely on flagship smartphones, the company continues to strengthen its position in wearables and lifestyle devices, categories that have seen consistent growth in recent years.

HUAWEI has yet to announce Philippine pricing and availability for the WATCH FIT 5 Series, WATCH GT Runner 2 Racing Legend Edition, and nova 15 Max. More details are expected in the coming weeks.
