GAC GS4 MAX HEV Launches in Philippines

GAC Philippines has officially launched the GS4 MAX HEV, adding a hybrid SUV to its local lineup with a claimed driving range of up to 1,250 kilometers and an introductory price of PHP 1,218,000.

The GS4 MAX HEV combines a 2.0-liter hybrid powertrain with a spacious five-seat cabin, Level 2 driver-assistance features, and a range of connectivity and comfort technologies aimed at family-oriented buyers.

Reservations are now open nationwide, with the introductory price available for reservations made until September 30, 2026.

GAC GS4 MAX HEV uses a 2.0L hybrid powertrain

The GS4 MAX HEV is powered by a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle dedicated hybrid engine paired with a two-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) and a 2.1kWh Nickel Cobalt Manganese (NCM) battery.

Its hybrid system can operate in several modes, including Pure Electric (EV), Hybrid (HV), Direct Engine Drive, and Energy Recuperation.

The system produces a combined 232 horsepower (173kW) and up to 300Nm of motor torque.

GAC claims the setup can deliver a total driving range of up to 1,250km on a single tank, giving the SUV a longer-distance advantage over conventional gasoline-powered vehicles while retaining the refueling convenience of a hybrid.

Prioritize space for families

The SUV measures up to a 2,750mm wheelbase and 1,901mm body width, with GAC highlighting its available legroom and shoulder room across both rows.

Inside, the GS4 MAX HEV uses a black interior with a panoramic glass roof and electric sunshade. The seats feature extensive perforation and a design intended to provide additional support during longer drives.

Family-oriented features include rear air vents, additional storage compartments, and acoustic insulation designed to reduce cabin noise.

The second-row seats can also fold completely flat, creating a larger cargo area for items such as strollers, sports equipment, and luggage.

Level 2 driver assistance adds active safety features

The GS4 MAX HEV comes with a suite of Level 2 driver-assistance technologies, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking with vulnerable road user detection, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Integrated Cruise Assist, and a Surround View Camera System.

The SUV also uses a reinforced body structure incorporating high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel in key load-bearing areas.

Its airbag system includes dual front airbags, front-side airbags, second-row side airbags, and side curtain airbags.

GAC adds panoramic roof, wireless charging, and smartphone connectivity

Technology inside the GS4 MAX HEV centers on a 10.1-inch multifunction touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

The dashboard also features a 7-inch LCD digital instrument cluster, while other cabin technologies include a 50W wireless smartphone charger with an integrated cooling fan.

The exterior features GAC’s Qilin-inspired front fascia, Qingyun Ladder matrix grille, Morning Star LED headlights, full-width Changhong LED taillights, and hidden electric door handles.

GAC GS4 MAX HEV price and availability in the Philippines

The GAC GS4 MAX HEV carries a ₱1,298,000 SRP, but buyers who reserve the SUV until September 30, 2026 can receive ₱80,000 in introductory savings, bringing the price down to ₱1,218,000. The SUV is available in three exterior colors: Planet Silver, Hoary Grey, and Crystal White. All variants come with a Minimalist Black interior and black ceiling.

The GS4 MAX HEV joins GAC Philippines’ expanding electrified lineup, which includes its existing hybrid and EV offerings.

GAC Philippines supports the vehicle through its nationwide network of 30 dealerships, alongside a dedicated parts warehouse and two years of free roadside assistance. The GS4 MAX HEV receives a five-year or 150,000km basic warranty, whichever comes first. Its power battery, driving motor, and motor control unit are covered for eight years or 150,000km.

With the GS4 MAX HEV, GAC is positioning hybrid technology as an option for Filipino families who want lower fuel consumption and extended driving range without moving entirely to an electric vehicle.
