The first day sale of the HONOR 600 Series turned into a full-scale fan event at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall, with thousands of attendees lining up for the chance to get hands-on with HONOR’s latest AI-powered smartphone lineup.

Held on May 30, the launch event combined retail activity with live performances and celebrity appearances, underscoring the growing role of experiential marketing in smartphone launches in the Philippines.

Mall of Asia launch turns into tech and fan festival

The event drew a large crowd of fans, tech enthusiasts, and early adopters, reflecting strong local interest. Beyond product availability, the venue featured demo zones where attendees explored key AI features of the HONOR 600 Series, including AI Image to Video, AI Eraser, AI Outpainting, and AI-powered portrait photography tools.

The interactive setup positioned the device as both a consumer product and an AI creativity tool, aligning with HONOR’s push toward AI-centric mobile experiences.

Celebrity lineup drives strong event turnout

The first-day sale of the HONOR 600 Series also featured a mix of performers and public figures, adding entertainment value to the product launch.

The event included appearances from P-pop acts FINA and It All Started In May; Pinoy Big Brother personalities Sofia Pablo, Marco Masa, Ashley Sarmiento, and Rave Victoria; Miss Earth Philippines 2025 Joy Barcoma as host; Miss Philippines titleholders Allyson Hetland, Jenrose Javier, Trexy Roxas, Marian Arellano, and Catherine Wardle; as well as performances by Carmelle Collado, Rabin Angeles, Angela Muji, and music acts James Reid and Mayonnaise.

The lineup reflects a common strategy in smartphone launches in the Philippines, where brands like HONOR combine product campaigns with entertainment-driven experiences to boost foot traffic and engagement.

According to HONOR Philippines Vice President Stephen Cheng, the response shows how quickly Filipino consumers are adopting AI-enabled smartphones for everyday use, particularly for content creation and photography.

The company continues to position the HONOR 600 Series as a mid-to-premium smartphone line focused on AI imaging, creative tools, and flagship-level performance.

Experiential retail remains key in smartphone launches
