BYD brings Tech Tour to Clark, previews Atto 2 DM-i ahead of official PH launch

BYD Cars Philippines is expanding its regional footprint in Luzon with the BYD Tech Tour at SM City Clark, giving consumers in Central Luzon direct access to its electric vehicle lineup while offering an early look at the upcoming BYD Atto 2 DM-i.

The event forms part of BYD’s broader push to accelerate EV adoption in the Philippines by bringing product showcases and test-drive experiences outside Metro Manila.

Clark becomes strategic hub for BYD’s EV push

Clark serves as the latest stop in BYD’s experiential roadshow strategy, positioning Central Luzon as a key growth area for electrified mobility.

The Tech Tour highlights the brand’s current lineup, including the BYD Seagull, BYD Sealion 6 DM-i, BYD Seal 5 DM-i, BYD Sealion 5 DM-i, BYD Tang DM-i, and BYD Sealion 7.

Visitors can explore static displays, participate in interactive demos, and experience test drives onsite with product specialists available for guidance, reflecting BYD’s broader push to strengthen consumer familiarity with its electrified and hybrid vehicle ecosystem through hands-on engagement.

BYD Atto 2 DM-i gets early preview

A key highlight of the Clark stop is the first public preview of the BYD Atto 2 DM-i, a subcompact SUV that has yet to be fully launched in the Philippine market.

While BYD has not yet disclosed full specifications, the preview signals the brand’s continued expansion in the entry-level SUV segment, where competition among electrified and hybrid models continues to intensify.

The move aligns with BYD’s strategy of strengthening its DM-i hybrid lineup, which targets consumers looking for extended range and fuel efficiency without fully committing to pure battery-electric mobility.

Interactive EV experience targets mainstream adoption

Beyond vehicle displays, BYD is using the Tech Tour format to introduce EV technology in a more accessible way for Filipino consumers.

The Clark showcase includes virtual reality driving experiences, interactive tech modules, on-site test drives, product consultations with brand specialists, and lifestyle-oriented EV demonstrations.

This hands-on approach reflects a growing industry trend where automakers are shifting from traditional showroom launches to experiential marketing events, allowing customers to engage directly with electrified mobility concepts and better understand how models like the BYD Sealion 5 DM-i and other BYD offerings fit into real-world driving scenarios.

Strengthening regional EV accessibility in the Philippines

BYD emphasized Clark’s role as a gateway to Central Luzon, noting its importance in expanding EV awareness beyond Metro Manila.

By staging roadshows in key regional hubs, the company aims to improve consumer familiarity with electric and hybrid technologies while supporting broader infrastructure readiness in the country.

The BYD Tech Tour runs at SM City Clark from June 19 to 21, 2026, with public access from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Friday and 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM on weekend days.
