GAC Philippines says a Marikina household’s latest purchase, an Emkoo Hybrid in August 2026, completed a three-vehicle garage that also includes a GS8 SUV and an Empow sports sedan. The company’s account centres on Atty. Jian Manjares and his family, who cited their previous ownership experience, vehicle comfort and dealership support in choosing the hybrid crossover.
The GAC family ownership journey began with the all-new GS8, according to the release. Manjares and his family reserved the seven-seater around April or May 2023 and took delivery in June 2023. The release says they use the GS8 for airport runs, out-of-town trips and weekend errands.
Manjares added an Empow in January 2024. GAC says the sedan serves as his primary daily driver for city traffic, solo out-of-town trips, badminton training and tournaments, and professional travel to Subic and Tagaytay. He described the car as an “everyday sports car” that was agile and dynamic while remaining practical for daily driving.
Why the family chose the Emkoo Hybrid
According to GAC, the family considered rival brands while looking for a replacement for an aging diesel SUV. The release says their comparisons and test drives covered fuel efficiency, interior space, ride comfort and the presence of a spare tire. The Emkoo Hybrid now serves as Manjares’ mother’s daily commute vehicle between Manila and Pasay.
In the company’s telling, the GAC family ownership journey was shaped by the owners’ focus on vehicle fundamentals rather than feature count. Manjares, who said he performs some minor repairs and maintenance himself, cited driving dynamics, parts quality, engine, platform and driving ergonomics as areas he evaluates.
The release also attributes the family’s repeat purchases to aftersales support. Manjares has his vehicles serviced at GAC Pasig and GAC Quezon Avenue, according to GAC. It says GAC Pasig provided a courtesy vehicle when the Empow underwent a detailed inspection and routine maintenance, while a service advisor provided assistance after a locking mishap during heavy rain.
GAC Philippines’ ownership support claims
GAC Philippines says it supports owners through a nationwide network of 33 dealerships, a dedicated parts warehouse and two years of free roadside assistance. The company also lists warranty coverage for specific models: ICE models EMZOOM and All-New GN6 have a five-year or 150,000 km warranty, whichever comes first; EV models HYPTEC HT, AION UT and AION V have an eight-year or 160,000 km basic warranty, plus an eight-year or 200,000 km plan for the traction battery and electric drive.
For GS4 Max HEV, E8 HEV, GN8 PHEV and GS8 HEV, GAC lists a five-year or 150,000 km basic warranty and an eight-year or 150,000 km policy for the power battery, driving motor and motor control unit. The company did not state in this release whether those listed terms apply to the Emkoo Hybrid.
