GAC says a Caloocan-based entrepreneurial family has bought two AION UT electric vehicles within two months, using one for photography and videography work and the other for family duties. The Galang family’s experience is presented as an example of how the GAC AION UT family uses the hatchback for business operations, school runs and everyday city travel.
“The performance is really impressive, and the space inside is incredible; it easily accommodates all our bulky photo and video gear,” Christopher Galang said. He also cited the vehicle’s advanced driving assistance and parking features as conveniences during everyday trips.
The couple bought their first AION UT in July. GAC said they used it for production shoots, including trips to Angono, as well as family journeys to Tagaytay and Batangas. The vehicle’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability also supplied power for equipment on location, according to the company.
GAC said the family’s weekly fuel costs fell from roughly PHP 4,000 after adopting the AION UT. The savings and convenience led the Galangs to sell an underused gas vehicle and purchase a second unit two months later.
“We realized we were constantly competing over who got to take the AION UT for the day because it was just so comfortable and economical to drive,” Menchie Galang said. “Buying the second one just two months later was the most logical step for our family and our business.”
Two vehicles for separate routines

The GAC AION UT family setup now assigns the first vehicle to hauling production gear across shoot locations, while the second handles school runs and daily city errands. GAC also said the Galangs pair both vehicles with a home solar setup to support their business fleet and personal transport.
The GAC AION UT is a hatchback with a 440-liter boot. GAC says its layout, with the wheels pushed toward the corners, creates a roomier cabin for groceries, luggage and bulky work equipment. The model also has an ultra-tight turning radius for crowded streets and IP67/IP68-rated waterproof battery protection.
The GAC AION Mobile App supports remote cabin pre-cooling, charging tracking and vehicle diagnostics. GAC lists a 400-kilometer driving range and says the vehicle can reduce daily running costs by up to 75 percent compared with gas vehicles.
Safety, price and support

The AION UT received a five-star Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) safety rating on October 12, 2026, following a five-star European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) rating awarded in September 2026. GAC says the Philippine Elite variant carries the same certified safety standards, with a high-strength “Dragon-Bone” steel structure and seven airbags.
The all-new GAC AION UT Elite is available at GAC dealerships nationwide for an introductory PHP 998,000, reduced from the regular retail price of PHP 1,068,000. The promotion is extended until December 31, 2026, under DTI Fair Trade Permit No. FTEB-269021 Series of 2026.
The model includes an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer basic vehicle warranty, plus an eight-year or 200,000-kilometer warranty for the traction battery and electric drive system. GAC Philippines also cites 33 dealerships, a dedicated parts warehouse and two years of free roadside assistance. The company says its EV lineup is supported by the same basic and battery warranty milestones.
