Electric-vehicle owners and prospective buyers need clear information about safety, charging and ownership costs. In a release dated October 30, 2026, BYD Cars Philippines said it is supporting the continued rollout of ACMobility’s Drive Electric. EV Safety Program alongside its owner communities. The company said the program is intended to help EV owners, prospective buyers, fleet operators and the wider public make informed decisions about electric mobility.
The release says ACMobility launched the Drive Electric. EV Safety Program in August 2026 and continued its rollout at the Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS). BYD described its involvement as complementing support for its growing customer base, including owner communities where drivers can share experiences, learn from one another and better understand their vehicles. This places BYD EV safety education alongside owner-to-owner exchanges rather than solely within formal program sessions.

Owner groups and shared experience
BYD said communities are forming around its different models in the Philippines as its vehicle lineup expands. The company said these groups provide spaces for practical ownership advice, activities with fellow drivers and discussions that can help members learn more about their vehicles. According to the release, exchanges within the groups can range from exploring vehicle features to comparing everyday driving experiences and running costs.
For prospective buyers, BYD said the owner groups can offer firsthand perspectives to consider alongside professional reviews and dealership consultations. The release does not position those perspectives as a replacement for either source; instead, it describes them as part of the information available to people considering electrified mobility.
Bob Palanca, managing director of BYD Cars Philippines, said the company wants to support these communities while learning from their members. “We’re glad to see BYD owners building communities where they can learn from and support one another. We want to continue celebrating these groups by helping provide access to relevant information, knowledge, and support throughout the ownership journey. At the same time, listening to our owners gives us an opportunity to learn from their experiences and better understand their needs as we work to grow awareness of electrified mobility in the Philippines,” Palanca said.
One owner cited in the release, BYD Sealion 6 owner and moderator-team member Aaron Estabillo, described the value of seeing different experiences from other drivers. “The most common benefit is you get to see everything from everyone’s point of view. I learn from other owners the things I may have missed myself,” he said.
Program and distributor context
The release presents BYD EV safety education as one part of a broader ownership-support picture that also includes charging infrastructure, after-sales support and community advice. It says access to reliable information and shared experience can help Filipinos understand EV technology and what ownership entails.
Mobility Access Philippines Ventures, Inc. (MAPVI), BYD passenger cars’ official distributor and accredited importer in the country, operates under ACMobility, Ayala Corporation’s mobility solutions group. MAPVI says it oversees 81 dealerships across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, and describes this as the largest network of any single automotive brand in the country. It also says BYD has the broadest lineup of new energy vehicles—covering plug-in hybrid and full battery electric vehicles—in the Philippine automotive industry.
For this announcement, BYD EV safety education is tied to a continuing ACMobility program and to the owner groups that BYD says are sharing practical vehicle experiences in the Philippines.
