GCash is encouraging Filipinos to adopt simple financial habits that make saving and investing part of everyday spending, showing how a single money decision can deliver both immediate rewards and long-term financial growth.
Rather than focusing on strict budgeting or cutting expenses, GCash promotes “two-fold financial habits”—routines that allow users to enjoy their money today while simultaneously building wealth for the future.
Turn everyday spending into savings
One of the strategies GCash recommends is the “Buy One, Invest One” approach, where users set aside 10% to 20% of every non-essential purchase for savings or investments.
For example, buying a ₱500 item could be paired with a ₱100 contribution to a savings or investment account, helping users gradually build financial discipline without giving up occasional purchases.
The company also encourages users to divide unexpected income—such as bonuses, cashback rewards, or tax refunds—between present enjoyment and future financial goals through its “Reward Yourself Responsibly” habit.
Another suggested strategy is round-up investing, where purchases are rounded up to the nearest convenient amount and the difference is automatically saved or invested. Small amounts accumulated over time can eventually grow into a meaningful fund without requiring significant lifestyle adjustments.
Save while earning rewards
GCash is also rewarding users who consistently save and invest through two ongoing promotional campaigns.
Under Shake to Win, users can open the GCash app daily and tap eligible wealth products, including GSave or GFunds, to receive one free shake each day. Every shake automatically grants one raffle entry for a chance to win ₱10,000 in cash, while also offering instant shopping vouchers worth ₱1, ₱50, or ₱200.
Meanwhile, Save to Win Bigger gives customers one raffle entry for every ₱1,000 saved or invested in eligible wealth management products such as GSave or GFunds. For GSave users, deposited funds must remain in the account for at least seven days to qualify.
The promotion is open to both new and existing users, with prizes including three ₱50,000 cash prizes, three MacBook Neo 256GB laptops, three iPhone 17 256GB smartphones, two ₱100,000 cash prizes, one Yamaha Aerox motorcycle, and a ₱500,000 grand cash prize. Several prize categories also include an additional ₱10,000 cash prize.
