OPPO Reno15 Series 5G Brings AI Motion Photo Popout to PH
OPPO Philippines is pushing built-in AI editing further with the OPPO Reno15 Series 5G, headlined by AI Motion Photo Popout, a native feature that converts standard shots into layered, animated visuals without third-party apps.
Instead of exporting photos to TikTok or CapCut for a faux-3D effect, Reno15 users can now generate a popout-style composition directly from the phone’s gallery in about five seconds.

AI Motion Photo Popout: From Still Image to Layered Visual
Available on the OPPO Reno15 5G and OPPO Reno15 Pro 5G, AI Motion Photo Popout uses subject detection and background mapping to separate a person or object from the scene, then creates a layered composition where the subject appears to move forward out of the frame.
The feature works best with dynamic poses, running, jumping, spinning, or mid-motion shots, adding depth and subtle animation to otherwise flat images.
Unlike app-based effects, the processing happens within the native system, which means:
- No watermark
- No third-party compression
- No exporting and re-editing loop
- Faster share-to-social workflow
It’s a small feature on paper, but it aligns with how short-form content is created and shared today.
How AI Photo Popout Works
The process is built into the Reno15 camera and Photos app:
- Capture a Motion Photo using the Reno15 camera
- Open the image in the Photos app
- Select the Collage option
- Tap the subject and apply the Popout effect
The AI then isolates the subject and builds the layered layout automatically. OPPO says edge detection has been refined to handle tricky areas like hair strands and hand outlines, a common weak point in cutout-based effects. Processing typically takes around five seconds.
A Broader AI Editing Push
AI Motion Photo Popout is part of a larger AI imaging suite inside the Reno15 Series. It also includes the AI Motion Photo Slow-Mo and the AI Motion Photo Eraser
Rather than positioning AI as a complex pro tool, OPPO is embedding quick, one-tap utilities aimed at casual creators, students, and social-first users.
