Queenpin Basketball, Montero Hoops Win vivo 3×3 Basketball Challenge Year 4 Titles

Queenpin Basketball and Montero Hoops emerged as champions of the vivo 3×3 Basketball Challenge Year 4 after winning their respective divisions during the Grand Finals held on July 12 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.

The annual tournament concluded months of regional qualifying legs, bringing together some of the country’s top men’s and women’s 3×3 basketball teams. Champions received cash prizes, trophies, medals, and vivo smartphones led by the newly launched vivo V70.

Queenpin Basketball dominates women’s finals

Queenpin Basketball captured the women’s championship after defeating QP 3×3, 21-10, in a one-sided final.

The champions took home ₱30,000 in cash along with vivo V70 smartphones.

The final standings saw Queenpin Basketball finish as champion (₱30,000 plus vivo V70 smartphones), followed by QP 3×3 as first runner-up (₱20,000 plus vivo V70 FE smartphones), Uratex Dream in third place (₱15,000 plus vivo Y31d smartphones), and Kengs Basketball Team as fourth placer (₱10,000 plus vivo Y05 smartphones).

Veteran player Nic Cancio said the tournament provided valuable exposure for women’s basketball while giving athletes another platform to compete. She added that the competition challenged her not only physically but also as a leader, helping her teammates gain confidence throughout the tournament.

Montero Hoops edges thriller in men’s championship

The men’s championship produced one of the tournament’s closest contests, with Montero Hoops edging Taho Story MFTG Corporation, 20-19, in the final.

Montero Hoops claimed ₱30,000 in cash along with vivo V70 smartphones for winning the title.

The final standings saw Montero Hoops emerge as champion (₱30,000 plus vivo V70 smartphones), followed by Taho Story MFTG Corporation as first runner-up (₱20,000 plus vivo V70 FE smartphones), Taho Story in third place (₱15,000 plus vivo Y31d smartphones), and SMG Kings as fourth placer (₱10,000 plus vivo Y05 smartphones).

Montero Hoops’ Jerick Fabian described the victory as the culmination of years of competing in the tournament, saying the team remained committed despite entering the competition as underdogs.

vivo continues grassroots basketball support

Now in its fourth year, the vivo 3×3 Basketball Challenge continues to serve as a platform for Filipino athletes to compete at the national level while gaining exposure in the growing local 3×3 basketball scene.

Beyond awarding champions, the tournament highlights vivo Philippines’ continued investment in grassroots sports development by providing opportunities for aspiring players to showcase their talent and compete against some of the country’s top teams.
