Garmin has launched new Pokémon Sleep-themed watch faces for its smartwatch lineup, offering users a more interactive way to track energy levels throughout the day. The update is now available for free through the Connect IQ Store and supports select models across the fēnix, Forerunner, Venu, and vívoactive series.
The watch faces integrate directly with Garmin’s Body Battery feature, translating health and energy data into visual changes using familiar Pokémon characters.
Watch Faces Reflect Energy Levels in Real Time
The new designs are inspired by Pokémon Sleep and dynamically change based on the user’s energy levels. As Body Battery fluctuates throughout the day, the selected Pokémon shifts expressions and animations, from active and cheerful to tired and sleepy.
Users can choose between two themes: one featuring Snorlax alongside classic Pokémon like Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu, and another that allows selection from a wider pool of companions. This adds a layer of personalization while reinforcing Garmin’s focus on making health tracking more engaging.
Built-In Night Mode Supports Sleep Routines
The watch faces also include a built-in night mode that activates approximately 90 minutes before the user’s scheduled bedtime. This feature works alongside the Garmin Connect app, helping signal when it’s time to wind down.
By aligning visuals with sleep schedules, Garmin extends the functionality of its wearables beyond fitness tracking and into habit-building and sleep awareness.
Making Health Tracking More Engaging
Garmin’s integration of Pokémon Sleep highlights a broader trend in wearable technology: blending health metrics with interactive and personalized experiences. By visualizing energy levels through familiar characters, the company is making features like Body Battery more intuitive and engaging for everyday users.
As smartwatch competition continues to focus on ecosystem features and user engagement, partnerships like this position Garmin to appeal to both fitness-focused users and those looking for more approachable, lifestyle-driven tools.
The Pokémon Sleep watch faces are now available for download via the Connect IQ Store on both Android and iOS. Garmin notes that compatibility depends on the device model, with support limited to select smartwatches across its current lineup.
In addition, some Garmin devices now support syncing sleep data directly with the Pokémon Sleep app, further connecting wearable data with gamified sleep tracking experiences.
