LG Expands webOS Gaming Portal With New Titles, Magic Remote, Mobile Gamepad Support

LG Electronics is rolling out new titles on its LG Gaming Portal, expanding the catalog of games available directly on LG Smart TVs powered by webOS. The update strengthens LG’s push to position webOS as a device-free gaming platform, allowing users to play without consoles or additional hardware.

LG says the Gaming Portal now offers more than 4,000 cloud-based games and 600 casual titles, accessible straight from compatible Smart TVs. The move reflects the company’s broader strategy of transforming its TV ecosystem into a central hub for streaming, content, and interactive entertainment.

Just Dance Now and Voice-Controlled Games Arrive

Among the new additions is Just Dance Now, now available on LG Smart TVs running webOS 22 or later in select markets including the United States, Australia, Sweden, and Norway, with broader European availability expected soon. Through LG’s collaboration with Ubisoft, users can follow choreography using the LG Magic Remote’s motion-sensing capabilities, eliminating the need for a console or dedicated controllers.

LG has also partnered with Volley to bring voice-controlled games to its Smart TVs in the US. Volley’s lineup includes adaptations of Jeopardy! and music trivia title Song Quiz, designed to be played through voice interaction in the living room.

Arcade Racing and Narrative Adventures

For racing fans, LG teams up with Blacknut to introduce Asphalt Legends Unite. Available free with ads in the US, the game provides access to cars and maps from the start, playable using a TV remote.

Another addition is My Little Puppy, published by Krafton and offered via Blacknut. The adventure title follows a narrative-driven journey centered on companionship and reunion, leveraging large-screen visuals for a more immersive experience.

Smartphone as Controller

To complement the growing catalog, LG introduced the LG Mobile Gamepad Wi-Fi app, now available on Android and iOS devices.

The app allows smartphones to function as game controllers for supported titles. It offers an alternative to the Magic Remote and enabling multiplayer gameplay without additional hardware purchases.

Hackathon Winners Join the Portal

LG is also adding two award-winning titles from last year’s LG webOS Hackathon. Quest of Sunflower by Couchplay, the Grand Prize winner, delivers a family-focused adventure experience featuring AI-generated storytelling. Meanwhile, Signs of Magic by Lukas Klingsbo integrates gesture controls, turning the Magic Remote into a wand-like controller using gyroscopic sensors for spell-casting mechanics.

With its expanding catalog and controller flexibility, LG is continuing to develop webOS beyond streaming, positioning its Smart TVs as a consolidated entertainment and gaming platform without the need for external consoles.
