IKEA YXSTABY gaming collection launches in the Philippines

IKEA and XBOX have launched the IKEA YXSTABY gaming collection in the Philippines, a nine-piece furniture range designed around gaming setups that must also work within shared household spaces.

IKEA introduced the collection at its Pasay showroom on November 4, 2026, using interactive room settings to demonstrate possible gaming setups. The launch included a cosplay runway referencing IKEA’s FRAKTA carryall bag and immersive station tours, according to the company.

The collaboration brings together IKEA’s home-furnishing approach and XBOX’s gaming design input. IKEA said one designer from each company contributed to the range, drawing on their respective expertise in comfort, design and what gamers need.

The company framed the range around furniture that can fit into everyday routines. In Filipino households, it said, a gaming chair can move from a shared bedroom to the dining room when everyone is asleep, while a TV stand can move to the living room for multi-player gameplay.

Philip Dilé, Product Design Developer at IKEA of Sweden, said the partners aimed to address the practical compromises involved in bringing a gaming setup into everyday home life. “XBOX knows what players need from their gaming setup, and we know how to solve the small problems that come with adapting that to everyday life at home. Together, we set out to make furniture people really want in their home, not furniture they accept because it is what you need to game,” Dilé said.

The IKEA YXSTABY gaming collection includes a gaming lounge chair designed to accommodate a player’s forward-leaning position during early gameplay and a reclining position during longer sessions. IKEA also lists a rolling side table for keeping accessories close at hand.

A flexible cable-storage solution includes felt inserts intended to protect accessories and can unfold into a laptop stand. For homes with limited space, IKEA said the TV stand on castors can be moved between rooms, allowing a setup to shift as a room changes use during the day.

The range also uses controller-inspired details. These include a Gaming D-pad cushion based on the “+”-shaped directional button, a stainless-steel platter inspired by the D-pad, a tilting thumbstick stool inspired by an analog stick, and a mirrored display box for controllers and gaming collectibles.

Sarah Cox, IKEA Philippines Selling Manager, said the collection is inspired by XBOX gaming controllers and designed around how gamers play.

IKEA Philippines Sales Leader May Castillo said the collaboration combines IKEA’s pricing approach with insights into how people live at home. She also said the Philippines ranks first globally among internet users who play video games on any device and averages 11 hours of gaming a week, the highest weekly gaming time globally.

For local households where a bedroom, dining area or living room may serve multiple purposes, the IKEA YXSTABY gaming collection is positioned by IKEA as furniture that can move with the setup rather than remain fixed in a dedicated gaming room.
