PLDT Enterprise cybersecurity awareness program reaches key sectors

PLDT Enterprise said it used Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October 2026 to run knowledge-sharing sessions for business, education, defense and government audiences. The PLDT Enterprise cybersecurity awareness program covered AI-powered attacks, executive impersonation, phishing and digital resilience, with the company positioning employee and leadership awareness as part of a secure, AI-ready workplace. The engagements took place in the Philippines and, through an online session, reached a regional academic community.

The announcement matters to the audiences named in the release because it addresses fraudulent communications that, according to PLDT Enterprise, can exploit human trust and create risks for operations, sensitive information and organizational reputation. Rather than presenting technology as complete protection, the company said organizations should equip employees and leaders to recognize risks, question suspicious requests and act appropriately. That is the core of the company’s stated PLDT Enterprise cybersecurity awareness approach.

On October 6, 2026, PLDT Enterprise supported CCEAP’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month initiative with a Digital and Cyber Resilience briefing at CCEAP’s office on the 28th floor of Uptown Eastgate Tower 1. Alexis C. Bernardino, Principal CXO Advisor and Field CISO at PLDT Enterprise, led the session. According to the release, it examined emerging cyber threats, executive impersonation, AI-powered attacks and digital resilience, alongside phishing and fraudulent messages that can affect operations, sensitive information and organizational reputation.

“Cybersecurity today goes beyond protecting networks and systems. It is also about protecting people and helping them make informed decisions in an increasingly complex digital environment,” Bernardino said. He said AI makes cyber threats more sophisticated and convincing, making awareness at every level essential to resilience.

Workshops extended to defense and education

PLDT Enterprise also conducted a Cyber Awareness Workshop at the Philippine Military Academy in Baguio City on October 21, 2026. The briefing covered social engineering, deepfake impersonation, phishing, and threats involving personal accounts and digital devices in military and academic environments. It emphasized verification through trusted channels for unusual requests, credential protection, identifying suspicious communications, and prompt incident reporting.

The company also said it held Digital and Cyber Resilience Workshops for officials and leaders from the DND, its attached agencies, the Philippine Army, and the PNP, as well as local government officials and public servants. Bernardino led sessions on deepfake impersonation, social engineering, phishing and AI-powered fraud. The release said these risks can exploit the authority of officials and public trust.

Online session reached regional learners

Beyond the Philippines, PLDT Enterprise held an online Cybersecurity Industry Practitioner session with the Institute of Data, described in the release as a multinational Cybersecurity Cohort Program for learners in New Zealand, Australia and Singapore. The company said the community spans the University of Canterbury, University of Technology Sydney and Singapore. It characterized the engagement as cross-border cybersecurity knowledge sharing.

In a statement, CCEAP Chief Information Officer Winnie T. Rebancos said cybersecurity is a shared responsibility extending beyond IT teams, and that helping people recognize and respond to emerging threats is part of protecting its business and the trust placed in it. PLDT Enterprise said its initiatives seek to translate AI-driven risks, including synthetic voices and manipulated videos, into everyday scenarios for different audiences.

The company said its broader aim is to encourage practical security habits and move organizations from reactive to proactive and adaptive cybersecurity approaches. Its stated framework places people alongside technology in digital resilience. For the sectors covered by these engagements, the PLDT Enterprise cybersecurity awareness work carries the release’s central message: awareness is intended to accompany technology as digital threats evolve.
