Skyro Highlights Financial Habits Filipino Wallets Face This Halloween

Skyro is using Halloween to spotlight three financial habits Filipino wallets may face as year-end spending rises: impulse buying, missed payments and having no emergency fund. The SEC-registered fintech company said financed purchases increased by 49% in the fourth quarter of 2025 compared with previous periods.

The company said bonuses, major sales and holiday expenses can make it easier for budgets to disappear before the next payday. Its Halloween-themed release presents the habits as three “money monsters,” while pairing each one with budgeting steps and information about Skyro financial products.

Add-to-Cart Aswang: impulse buying

Skyro said flash sales, limited-time offers and shopping-app promotions can pressure shoppers into quick decisions. It advised consumers to ask whether an item is genuinely needed or was already planned before checking out.

For larger planned purchases such as appliances, gadgets or furniture, the company said a Skyro Product Loan can spread payments over a longer period. Eligible customers may qualify for offers starting at 0% interest and ₱0 down, depending on the loan and promotion.

The release frames financial habits Filipino wallets should watch during the holiday season as a matter of intentional spending, rather than treating every sale as a reason to buy. It also notes that planned essentials may still be purchased when shoppers focus on real savings and avoid impulse purchases.

Multo ng Nakalimutang Bayarin: missed payments

Skyro said missed due dates can result in late fees, added interest or a larger bill the following month, putting pressure on cash flow. It recommended listing monthly due dates in one place, setting reminders and, where possible, aligning payments with paydays.

The company described SkyroCredit as a reusable credit line offering up to 45 days at 0% interest. Customers must pay the required amount in full by the due date, according to the release. Skyro also said customers can earn up to 30% cashback when paying via QR Ph wherever accepted.

Bahala Na Bakunawa: no emergency fund

The release said an unexpected expense, such as an emergency-room trip or help for a relative, can disrupt a family’s monthly budget when savings are not available. It advised setting aside a fixed amount every payday, however small, and keeping it separate from spending money. It also suggested considering a year-end bonus or 13th-month pay for an emergency fund.

When savings are insufficient, Skyro said eligible customers can access additional funds through Skyro Cash Loan, with loan amounts of up to ₱250,000 and repayment terms of three to 18 months.

The release invites readers to learn more ways to make everyday finance less scary and more manageable. The company’s background information says it is a digital-first fintech group using proprietary data science, AI-driven credit decisioning and alternative-data scoring. As of 2026, Skyro said it had more than 7 million registered users and a credit portfolio exceeding $200 million.

The company’s release lists skyro.ph and its official Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok accounts for more information. The financial habits Filipino wallets encounter during the holiday period remain the focus of its Halloween campaign.
