vivo Y31d Launching May 9 in the Philippines with 7,200mAh Battery, IP69 Durability

vivo sets to launch the all-new Y31d in the Philippines on May 9, positioning itself as a battery-focused smartphone built for extended daily use.

With a 7,200mAh capacity and durability features typically seen in higher tiers, the device targets users prioritizing longevity and reliability over frequent charging cycles.

7,200mAh battery targets multi-day usage

Battery life stands as the core feature of the vivo Y31d, with its 7,200mAh BlueVolt battery designed to last up to two days on a single charge under typical usage.

Based on internal testing, the device supports up to 19.7 hours of TikTok streaming and 68 hours of Spotify playback. It can also sustain 13.2 hours of MOBA gaming, 45 hours of video playback, 12 hours of livestreaming, and 14.5 hours of navigation.

The phone also integrates a six-year battery health guarantee, supported by a multi-layer safety system aimed at maintaining performance over time. This reflects a growing industry push toward longer device lifecycles, particularly in midrange and entry-level segments.

Fast charging and reverse power support

To complement its large battery, the vivo Y31d includes 44W FlashCharge, which can fully recharge the device in under 90 minutes.

It also supports reverse charging, allowing the phone to function as a power source for accessories such as earbuds or secondary devices. This feature continues to gain traction in smartphones positioned as all-day or travel-ready devices.

IP68/IP69 durability expands use cases

Beyond battery, durability is another key focus. The device carries both IP68 and IP69 ratings, offering protection against dust, water immersion, and high-pressure conditions.

This level of protection is still relatively uncommon in its expected price tier, signaling vivo’s push to bring flagship-adjacent durability features into more accessible segments.

Design balances capacity and comfort

Despite the large battery, the vivo Y31d weighs 219 grams and uses a quad-curved back panel for improved grip and ergonomics. It will be available in Starlight Grey and Glow White colorways.

The design includes a metallic camera module and a seamless frame, aligning with current trends that bring premium aesthetics into more affordable devices.

Positioned for endurance-focused users

With smartphones increasingly expected to last longer both daily and across years of use, the vivo Y31d enters the market with a clear focus: extended battery life, durable build, and practical charging features.

More details, including pricing and full specifications, are expected during its official launch on May 9.
