Samsung’s Galaxy Z8 series is seeing record pre-order demand across Southeast Asia and Oceania, with the Galaxy Z Fold8 emerging as the region’s most popular model. Pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra have increased by nearly 60% compared with the previous generation.
Samsung’s pre-order period in the region ends on August 13, giving customers limited time to access launch offers for the new foldables.
Galaxy Z Fold8 accounts for nearly 60% of Z8 pre-orders
The Galaxy Z Fold8 currently accounts for almost six out of every 10 Galaxy Z8 devices ordered across Southeast Asia and Oceania. The figure makes it the strongest performer in Samsung’s latest foldable lineup.
The Philippines is also contributing to that momentum. Samsung says the Galaxy Z Fold8 has become its best-selling foldable in the country during a pre-order period, accounting for nearly 60% of Galaxy Z8 orders since July 22.
At its peak, Samsung recorded almost one Galaxy Z8 series sale every minute in the Philippines.
The strong demand comes as foldable phones continue moving beyond their early-adopter niche, with Samsung positioning the latest generation around larger displays, lighter designs, productivity, and AI-powered features.
Galaxy Z Fold8 targets immersive content and gaming
The Galaxy Z Fold8 leads demand among younger consumers who use large displays for short-form videos, webtoons, games, and e-books.
Its 4:3 main display provides a wider viewing area for these activities, while the 201-gram chassis makes it Samsung’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold model to date.
Graphite and Lavender are the most popular Galaxy Z Fold8 colors across Southeast Asia and Oceania, according to Samsung.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra focuses on productivity
For users prioritizing productivity, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra offers an 8-inch main display designed for multitasking. Samsung also upgraded its camera system to deliver improved detail, color, and clarity.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra’s most popular colors in the region are Violet Shadow and Graphite, while the Galaxy Z Flip8 sees the strongest demand for Pink and Graphite.
Samsung positions the Galaxy Z Flip8 as the more portable option in the lineup, with a redesigned FlexWindow that lets users access apps, information, actions, and assistance without opening the device.
Galaxy Watch9 and Watch Ultra2 expand Samsung’s ecosystem
Samsung launched the Galaxy Z8 series alongside the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2, extending its latest device lineup beyond smartphones.
The Galaxy Watch9 targets everyday health and productivity, while the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 focuses on outdoor activities and longer-lasting performance. Together, the wearables add to Samsung’s connected AI ecosystem across smartphones and smartwatches.
