Everstone Studio has outlined the next major phase of Where Winds Meet, revealing a large-scale content roadmap headlined by the upcoming “Imperial Palace” expansion. The announcement comes as the open-world Wuxia action RPG marks its half-anniversary.
Alongside the expansion, the developer also confirmed new gameplay systems, weapons, and limited-time cosmetic content scheduled to roll out over the coming months.
Imperial Palace expansion expands Wuxia world to imperial scale
Set to launch in late May, the “Imperial Palace” expansion for Where Winds Meet shifts the game’s narrative focus from the Hexi region to the political heart of the empire.
The update introduces a massive new playable environment designed as a royal court complex with significant narrative depth and social interaction systems.
Key features include a 1-million-square-meter imperial palace map, over 3,000 NPCs with faction-driven interactions, expanded storylines involving royal court conspiracies, and new faction-based progression paths.
Everstone Studio positions the expansion as a major step forward in the game’s open-world storytelling and environmental scale.
New systems aim to expand long-term player progression
Beyond the expansion, the studio outlined several upcoming systems designed to deepen long-term engagement and player customization in Where Winds Meet.

These include the Homesteads System arriving in June, which allows players to build personal bases in Qinghe with farming and lifestyle mechanics; a Companion System that introduces evolving AI companions whose behavior and dialogue change based on player interaction; the co-op PvE mode Martial Path Domain built around five-player combat challenges; and an Ancient Tomb exploration mode focused on high-risk survival and loot-based progression.
These additions signal a broader shift toward more persistent and social gameplay systems within Where Winds Meet.
New weapon class and combat expansion planned for summer
Combat will also expand with the introduction of Gauntlets, a new weapon class scheduled for release this summer. The weapon will feature its own martial arts style, focusing on close-range, physical combat mechanics.
The update continues the game’s emphasis on diverse Wuxia-inspired fighting styles, adding more variety to its weapon-based progression system.
Limited-time cosmetics and player rewards
As part of the celebration event, Everstone Studio also introduced a time-limited Panda cosmetic item for Where Winds Meet launching on May 19.

The cosmetic is priced at 60 Echo Beads (approximately $0.99) and will remain available for 30 days until June 17. Players will also receive three free premium outfits during the event period.
Everstone Studio framed the cosmetic release as part of a broader campaign to raise awareness for wildlife protection themes.
Ongoing updates and global infrastructure expansion
Everstone Studio said it has delivered over 100 updates in the past two months for Where Winds Meet based on community feedback, covering gameplay systems, matchmaking, progression, and platform optimization.
The developer also confirmed plans to expand server infrastructure to improve global performance, including support for regions such as Australia, South America, and the Middle East.
With the “Imperial Palace” expansion and its growing roadmap of new systems, Where Winds Meet continues expanding its live-service Wuxia RPG ambitions. The upcoming updates signal Everstone Studio’s push to sustain long-term player engagement through large-scale narrative content, cooperative modes, lifestyle systems, and ongoing global support.
