HP expands AI ecosystem with HP IQ, next-gen devices

HP Inc. has announced a broad lineup of AI-powered devices, enterprise tools, and security solutions at its HP Imagine 2026 event in New York, signaling a deeper push into AI-driven workplace platforms.

At the center of the update is HP IQ, a new intelligence layer designed to connect AI PCs, workplace devices, and meeting environments through on-device AI and proximity-based connectivity.

The move reflects a growing industry shift toward localized AI processing, where tasks run directly on devices instead of relying solely on the cloud.

HP IQ introduces on-device AI for workplace productivity

Built to simplify workflows, HP IQ embeds AI features directly into devices such as upcoming EliteBook AI PCs.

Key capabilities include contextual assistance, file analysis, and meeting support, allowing users to:

  • Generate summaries and insights from documents
  • Capture notes automatically during meetings
  • Retrieve contextual information through voice or text prompts

The platform integrates with enterprise tools like Microsoft Intune, positioning HP IQ as part of broader IT-managed environments.

Complementing this is HP NearSense, a proximity-based system that enables seamless device-to-device interactions, including file sharing and one-click meeting access.

New AI PCs and workstations target edge and enterprise workloads

HP also introduced a new generation of AI-enabled hardware, including the EliteBook 6 G2q and updated Z-series workstations.

The solution addresses vulnerabilities tied to BitLocker, securing communication between system components to block tampering attempts.

HP is also expanding its Wolf Security suite, alongside introducing quantum-resistant security features in its latest LaserJet printers—an early move toward safeguarding data against future cryptographic threats.

HP’s new LaserJet Pro 4000/4100 and Enterprise 5000/6000 series printers integrate AI-driven document processing features such as enhanced OCR and automated workflows.

New desktops like the OMEN MAX 45L and OMEN 35L support high-end components including NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, while OMEN AI introduces automated performance tuning across supported games.

The updated OMEN Gaming Hub also integrates AI tools for content creation and personalization, reflecting the growing overlap between gaming, streaming, and creator workflows.
