Filipino digital artists can now join the HUAWEI GoPaint Worldwide Creating Activity 2026, with submissions open until January 31, 2027 and a total US$20,000 prize pool up for grabs.
The global digital art competition is open to professional artists, creators, and enthusiasts, with HUAWEI adding a new Easy Creation category for its 2026 edition.
HUAWEI GoPaint 2026 adds an Easy Creation category
The competition now features five categories covering different digital art styles and skill levels: Easy Creation, Digital Watercolor and Ink, Sci-Fi Art, Cutting Edge Paintings, and Narrative Art.
The new Easy Creation category is designed as an entry point for aspiring digital artists. Participants can take a photo using a HUAWEI smartphone or tablet and paint over it using the HUAWEI GoPaint app.
All competition entries must be created exclusively on a HUAWEI tablet using the GoPaint app. The app provides digital brushes, high-definition canvases, and low-latency drawing tools designed to replicate different aspects of traditional digital painting.
Artists can submit entries through two methods
HUAWEI is offering two ways to submit artwork to the competition.
MatePad users can select a photo from their Gallery, tap Share, choose the My HUAWEI app, and proceed to the competition page to complete their submission.
Artists can also submit through the web by accessing the activity page or banner on the HUAWEI Community platform, logging in with their HUAWEI ID, and uploading their work.
Submissions remain open until January 31, 2027, followed by review and judging from February through May 2027.
20 artists will receive US$1,000 each
HUAWEI will recognize 20 winning works, with each selected artist receiving an Honorable Mention and a pre-tax US$1,000 cash prize.
Winning works will also be considered for HUAWEI’s Global Showcase, which can include press conferences, brand events, art exhibitions, and the company’s global social media channels.
Selected artworks may also be used as HUAWEI Themes wallpapers or customized merchandise. Winners may additionally be invited for video interviews about their creative process and artwork.
The final judging panel includes French urban artist and Urban Art United co-founder Dezio, American art director and animation director Dalton Grant Jr., and illustrator Victo Ngai, alongside eight preliminary judges.
