GAC E8 HEV offers 1,000-km range, flexible seven-seat cabin from ₱1.778M

GAC Philippines is highlighting the GAC E8 HEV’s combination of hybrid efficiency, flexible cabin space, and long-distance capability as its introductory pricing period approaches its September 30 deadline.

Officially launched in the Philippines on July 29, the seven-seat MPV starts at ₱1.858 million under its standard retail pricing. For a limited period, however, reservations can bring the price down to ₱1.778 million for the GL variant and ₱1.918 million for the GX.

The E8 HEV is positioned as a self-charging hybrid option for families who want electrified driving without depending on external charging stations.

2.0L hybrid powertrain targets long-distance family travel

The E8 HEV combines a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine with an electric motor and a 2-Speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT).

The system produces 182 PS, while the electric drive motor delivers up to 300 Nm of torque. GAC says the two-speed transmission is designed to provide smoother acceleration while reducing shift jolts and unnecessary engine revving.

The hybrid MPV uses a 60-liter fuel tank and has a claimed fuel economy rating of 5.58 liters per 100 kilometers. Based on these figures, GAC says the E8 HEV can travel more than 1,000 kilometers on a single tank, although actual range will vary depending on driving conditions and usage.

Unlike a plug-in hybrid or battery-electric vehicle, the E8 HEV does not require owners to connect the vehicle to an external charger.

E8 HEV offers 18 cabin configurations

The E8 HEV’s three-row cabin can be configured in 18 different arrangements through its Magic Storage seating system.

The third row can fold completely into the floor, increasing cargo capacity from 345 liters to 1,917 liters. This allows the MPV to shift between passenger and cargo duties without requiring a separate vehicle for different family needs.

The cabin also features Tea Break Mode, which turns the third row toward the rear of the vehicle to create an outdoor-facing seating arrangement.

For longer trips, the second row uses independent captain’s chairs with extended sliding rails. The GX variant adds One-Touch Zero Gravity Captain’s Seats with ventilation, massage functions, and power leg rests.

Connected cabin puts devices within reach

The E8 HEV features an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch central touchscreen.

The infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while wireless charging and seven USB ports provide charging options for occupants across the three-row cabin.

The MPV is available in Crystal White and Elegant Black, both paired with an all-black interior.
