LG sees surge in PuriCare dehumidifier demand as rainy season raises indoor moisture concerns

LG Philippines expects sales of its PuriCare Dehumidifier lineup to increase fivefold during the monsoon season, as prolonged rain pushes more Filipino households to manage excess moisture indoors.

The company says the demand reflects a growing interest in keeping homes comfortable when damp clothes, humid rooms, and slower drying times become more common during rainy weather.

The LG PuriCare lineup includes models capable of removing up to 40 liters of moisture per day and covering spaces of up to 120 square meters, alongside smart controls and features designed for drying clothes and other household items.

Up to 40 liters of moisture removed per day

LG’s PuriCare Dehumidifier lineup is built around the company’s Dual Inverter Compressor, which is designed to maintain moisture-removal performance while using energy more efficiently.

Depending on the model, the units can remove up to 40 liters of moisture per day, making them suited for larger areas rather than just individual bedrooms or small enclosed spaces.

The dehumidifiers also have Smart+ Mode, which monitors indoor humidity and automatically adjusts compressor operation and fan speed based on conditions.

This reduces the need for users to constantly change settings as humidity levels fluctuate throughout the day.

The dehumidifier can also help dry clothes and enclosed spaces

Beyond regulating room humidity, LG has designed the PuriCare lineup to support more targeted drying tasks.

Dedicated Y-hose and T-hose attachments can direct airflow toward items and enclosed areas, including shoes, drawers, and closets.

The units also support continuous drainage, allowing users to connect a drainage hose instead of repeatedly emptying the water collection bucket.

These features are particularly relevant during extended periods of rain, when drying clothes and other household items indoors can become more difficult.

UVnano and washable filters add air-care features

The PuriCare Dehumidifier also combines moisture management with features intended to support cleaner internal airflow.

A washable and reusable pre-filter helps capture particles before air passes through the system, while UVnano technology uses UVC LEDs to remove 99.99% of harmful bacteria and viruses that can accumulate on the fan blades, according to LG.

The features give the appliance an additional air-care function beyond simply removing moisture from the room.

LG ThinQ brings remote controls to the dehumidifier

Users can also connect compatible PuriCare Dehumidifier models to the LG ThinQ app.

Through the app, users can remotely operate the appliance, monitor energy consumption, schedule automatic operation, and receive alerts such as notifications when the water bucket is full or humidity levels increase.

The units are also designed to move between rooms, with 360-degree caster wheels, a slim body, and hidden handle and cord storage.

LG PuriCare Dehumidifier availability in the Philippines

LG is positioning its PuriCare Dehumidifier as a year-round home appliance rather than one used only during the rainy season.

The combination of high-capacity moisture removal, automated humidity control, targeted drying, air-care features, and smartphone connectivity gives households several ways to manage the effects of prolonged damp weather.

The LG PuriCare Dehumidifier is available through LG’s Philippine website, LG Official Stores on Shopee and Lazada, and authorized dealers nationwide.
