Xiaomi launches Mijia washing machines in PH

Xiaomi has launched two Mijia washing machines in the Philippines, bringing app-based controls to a 9kg front-load model priced at ₱20,999 and a 13kg top-load model priced at ₱16,999.

Both appliances connect to the Xiaomi Home app, allowing users to start, monitor and reschedule wash cycles using their phones. The machines also form part of Xiaomi’s connected-device ecosystem, giving households a choice between a larger-capacity washer and a front-load unit with steam functionality.

The Mijia Front Load Washer 9kg and Mijia Top Load Washer 13kg are available through Xiaomi’s official online store, its official Shopee stores and selected Xiaomi physical stores nationwide.

Mijia Top Load Washer 13kg targets larger households

Priced at ₱16,999, the Mijia Top Load Washer 13kg is designed for households handling larger laundry loads, including families and multigenerational homes.

It features an 80-liter drum and a 4-stage 3D water-flow system intended to distribute water throughout the load. Xiaomi says the washer can accommodate six sets of floor-length curtains, five bedding sets or 56 T-shirts in one cycle.

The model also includes a Tide Mite-Removal Wash. Xiaomi reports a dust-mite removal rate of up to 100% under laboratory conditions, although the announcement does not provide independent test results. Other features include a tub-cleaning mode, fabric-softener support and fragrance-care functions.

Users can operate the washer through the Xiaomi Home app or start it using Google Assistant, according to the company. Its all-white design also allows it to be placed in open areas of the home.

Mijia Front Load Washer 9kg adds steam function

The Mijia Front Load Washer 9kg costs ₱20,999 and is positioned for couples, young families and households with more limited space.

Its steam function is designed to reduce bacteria, with Xiaomi claiming removal of up to 99.99%. The company does not provide independent test results in the announcement for this figure.

The washer uses an inverter brushless DC (BLDC) motor, which Xiaomi describes as quiet and energy-efficient. It has a maximum spin speed of 1,200 revolutions per minute (rpm), which can help reduce the amount of moisture left in clothes before drying.

A touch panel provides an alternative to app-based controls, allowing users to operate the machine directly.

App controls let users manage laundry remotely

Both Mijia models support remote cycle management through the Xiaomi Home app. Users can start a wash before leaving home, check its progress and adjust the schedule when needed.

The feature is intended to help households coordinate laundry with their daily routines, including timing a cycle to finish closer to when they return home.

The two models offer different approaches to connected laundry: the 13kg top-loader emphasizes capacity and specialized wash functions, while the 9kg front-loader combines steam treatment with a faster spin cycle.
