Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo heads to Gran Turismo 7 this October

Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo will arrive in Gran Turismo 7 this October, bringing the automaker’s electric concept car to the racing game alongside a new EV Driving Experience featuring the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra.

Announced at the Gran Turismo World Series 2026 Round 3 in Singapore on October 3, the collaboration brings together Gran Turismo series producer Kazunori Yamauchi and Jean-Arthur Madelaine, head of design at Xiaomi Europe’s R&D and Design Center.

Xiaomi becomes the first tech company in Vision Gran Turismo

Xiaomi is the 36th brand to join the Vision Gran Turismo project and the first technology company to participate, according to the announcement.

Launched in 2013, the initiative invites brands to develop original concept cars for the Gran Turismo series. It has produced 50 Vision Gran Turismo models over the past decade, giving participating companies a platform to explore automotive design and engineering without the constraints of a production vehicle.

Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo debuted at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, where Xiaomi Auto chief designer Li Tianyuan presented the concept. The physical car later appeared at Auto China 2026 in Beijing.

Its upcoming addition to Gran Turismo 7 will let players experience the design through virtual driving.

Aerodynamics shape the Vision Gran Turismo concept

Xiaomi built the concept around its “Sculpted by the Wind” design philosophy, using a teardrop-like cabin and flowing body surfaces to emphasize aerodynamic efficiency.

Its cross-shaped headlights are designed to guide airflow, while a halo-shaped taillight sits within the rear air channel. An active wake-control system complements the design.

Xiaomi cites an aerodynamic efficiency value of 4.1 and a drag coefficient of 0.29. The concept also draws on aerodynamic approaches used in production vehicles such as the Xiaomi SU7 and Xiaomi YU7.

Inside, the “Sofa Racer” cockpit combines a cocoon-like layout with an emphasis on comfort and driver focus. Xiaomi says the concept integrates its Hyper XiaoAi AI Voice Assistant and MiMo foundation model, connecting the vehicle to its broader “Human × Car × Home” smart ecosystem.

Yamauchi praised the car’s combination of simplicity and curved surfaces, while Madelaine described it as a futuristic driver’s car designed to balance low drag with high downforce. Madelaine also said the vehicle feels smooth and stable at high speeds in the game.

New EV Driving Experience features the SU7 Ultra

The collaboration will also introduce Gran Turismo’s first dedicated EV Driving Experience, built around driving challenges and training involving the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra and Vision Gran Turismo concept.

The program is designed to let players explore the acceleration, braking and handling characteristics of high-performance electric vehicles within the game.

Once available, Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo will be drivable on circuits including the Nürburgring, Le Mans and Suzuka, according to the announcement.
