Myanmar won the inaugural Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games Esports Events, defeating Indonesia 4-0 in the Grand Final at Aichi Sky Expo in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on 1 October 2026.
The result made Myanmar the first Asian Games gold medallist in MLBB after the title’s debut as an official medal event. It also marked the MLBB Asian Games debut as a completed medal-event run on a major multi-sport stage.
A total of 22 National Olympic Committees took part in the competition from the preliminary qualification rounds, with 12 teams progressing to the Asian Games Main Stage. The tournament brought together national teams during MLBB’s 10th anniversary year, according to the announcement.
The winning roster comprised Oo Hein Htet as EXP Laner, Swe Han Htoo as Jungler, Kyaw Myo Myint Ko Ko as Mid Laner, Aung Shine Lin as Gold Laner, Thuya Kyaw as Roamer, and Aung Min Htun as Coach.
Ray Ng, Head of Esports Ecosystem at MOONTON Games, described the result as a historic moment for MLBB and mobile esports in Asia. “MLBB’s first Asian Games gold comes during our 10th anniversary year,” Ng said, adding that the result represented a milestone for those who had helped build the game over the past decade.
The MLBB Asian Games debut took place as esports receives greater structure and recognition across Asia. The source statement said the Olympic Council of Asia had reaffirmed its support for esports development in the region, placing the event within a broader effort to establish competitive gaming on major sporting platforms.
For MOONTON Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026 is part of MLBB’s 10th anniversary calendar. The company also cited the Asian Games Qualifiers in Singapore and MSC’s European debut in Paris as events leading into the title’s first Asian Games medal event.
