NetEase Games and Everstone Studio have launched Version 2.2 of Where Winds Meet, bringing the long-awaited conclusion to the Hidden Mountain storyline alongside new campaigns, World Bosses, and an upcoming Wuxia-inspired extraction mode.
The update continues the story surrounding the Mohist Hill sect, as players uncover the secrets behind Skyward City and confront Qianye, the antagonist responsible for the tragedy at Blissful Retreat.
Hidden Mountain storyline reaches its finale
The Hidden Mountain arc concludes with two final chapters, “A Bitter Winter” and “Sea of Sunfire.”
Players join Grandmaster Swallow to investigate the turmoil surrounding Black Gold and the scheme behind Skyward City, while Elder Peng faces a defining decision over the future of the Mohist Hill sect.

The finale also brings players face-to-face with Qianye, an old enemy tied to the destruction of the protagonist’s home and the loss of their loved ones.
Version 2.2 also introduces two new story Campaigns.
In Skyward City Ruins, players ride a Wooden Eagle through a high-speed aerial pursuit across collapsing towers before confronting former Grandmaster Halcyon.
The campaign explores a buried chapter of Mohist history and Halcyon’s belief in the principle of “benefiting the people.”
The second campaign takes players into a battlefield powered by magnetic forces, where constantly reversing gravity changes how encounters unfold.
The confrontation ultimately leads back to Elder Peng and his decision over whether the Mohist Hill sect should remain isolated or share its mechanical knowledge with a troubled world.
Transdust Ruins adds Wuxia to extraction gameplay
A new extraction mode called Transdust Ruins is scheduled to arrive on September 23.
The mode combines the extraction genre’s loot-and-escape structure with Where Winds Meet’s martial arts systems. Players can enter the desert alone or in squads of up to three and search for valuable loot while competing for limited extraction opportunities.
Combat is not always necessary to survive an encounter.

Players can use martial and mystical abilities alongside mechanics such as disguises, stealthy pickpocketing, and Acupoint Strike to obtain loot or escape encounters without drawing their weapons.
The result is a PvPvE mode where players have to balance fighting, looting, stealth, and extraction rather than simply relying on direct combat.
Two new World Bosses enter Hidden Mountain
Version 2.2 also expands the Wilds of Hidden Mountain with two World Boss encounters.
Goshawk is a hammer-wielding warrior capable of unleashing searing iron-flower attacks, while Golden Colossus Taicu is a massive mechanical titan that requires players to interact with the environment before attacking its core.
For Taicu, players must destroy structures within the arena to break its seal before climbing onto the titan itself and disabling its core.
Mid-Autumn Festival events offer free rewards
The update also brings seasonal activities tied to the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Players can participate in the limited-time events to earn free Lingering Melody and Resonating Melody rewards.
With the Hidden Mountain storyline now reaching its conclusion, Version 2.2 expands Where Winds Meet beyond its main narrative through new campaigns, boss encounters, seasonal content, and the upcoming Transdust Ruins extraction mode.
